I was heading downstairs of my large and exotic home, accommodating 10 vampires and me. The building used to be an orphanage but know I guess it still is but for Vampires that we're mistreated in life that I made I made from humans. with time, the place keeps up to date, slightly. some prefer more old-fashioned style but with still have modern items. Running water with large bathtub.
It was part of something with a old man I once met. He showed me kindness that I rarely seen from any human. He was willing to help me as long as I stay away from humans with my adoptive young ones. Not to harm them or feed off them. I have no need to interact with humans. Gave us this place and made sure it was fenced up so at least humans where warned to not enter. The kind humans that allowed me weren't easily convinced but I didn't mind the outer borders being of the large land. The walls were were nicely wallpapered with some rooms fitted for who wanted to slumber in them. I don't know if they want us to starve and die from starvation or if they are still testing my trust and loyalty.
I don't agree to things when I have doubts about them anymore and I couldn't care if I was only one alone who disagrees. I have young ones to protect and a land keep.
Those who lived within the walls looked up to me as their parent figure or as a guild. I provided safety, food and all of the things that they would ever need in life. A library that was filled with books. They all struggle to read modern English. Some of them not English but learned it fast. Reading was a problem for them, if they wanted to learn written English.
I walk down each hall as I spotted one of the newest members.
"(y/n)!" A young female vampire, Ella Steen, yelled down the corridor with excitement. Her body almost went into a wall by the speed she had dashed to me. This excitement would kill her if she could die by flying thought a hard wall that is to prevent the young ones from accidentally destroying the place when play fighting.
"What is it, Ella?" I asked her, stopping her from injuring her self. As if she had valuable information or she has on a sugar rush. Both important and both I needed to deal with. Her on a sugar rush is like if a person hyper child was given an energy drink then very sugary sweets with alcohol: that is she is like right now. her body couldn't keep still. however, her face drawing to a worrying state. also a regretful and scared looked that lowered her plumbed lips to a saddening thrown.
"I'm here to tell you something important." She tried her best to calm down. "sorry, I eat the bag of sugar. Antonio and Lizzie have found two people in around our land. We don't know what to do because they have attacked." She had that worried expression deepened with each moment. I knew I had to go and protect them.
"Where on our property are these humans?" I asked, travelling to my bedroom with Ella following me.
"the north of the wooded part with the caves. I do hope they get back before daybreak."
"Impossible, daytime is practically upon us. I need to get to the woods. Before, the crack of dawn. I will protect them. don't trouble yourself with such worries. Could you look after everyone when I am gone. You know how they get when they see humans." I said, putting my hair up and took off shoes for so I am to spring off my balcony with a glorious chance of landing with great distance.
"I can try my best." She smiled with childish smiled, trying not to worry but I noticed within her big bright eyes worry and fear. She is too young to be worry like this.
"I'll be back before morning fully take over the sky." I stepped out to a balcony, wind dancing encompassing my exposed skin, standing on the railings getting a view of the vast properly line. In the distance, the large fencing, which is intended to keep humans out, could hardly be seen. It was a blue figure of the beyond. Like mountings, they stood greatly blocking the paths of anyone. hidden within the woodlands, beyond the pool and garden.
