"Merci, mère (y/n)." He smiled, breathing slowly feeling his heart already slowing down to a normal pace.
"What seems to be the matter, Yves?" I asked, fixing his hair so the sweat on his face didn't touch his hair. He knew he spent an hour making it look good.
"The tall buff men have left. They are few short miles in front of the house. No weapons nor anything spotted however." yves reported.
I turned to the my balcony and made a dash to it to see if it was turn. My heart has never been fear stocked before this moment. I knew where they were going to go and I wasn't having it! They can leave, but if the return with Kars, I shall not allow entry. The can burn for a care.
I watched them leap away from the house with great speed. Greater speed than me. Have they achieved more power? Have they unlocked it? Was I behind or have they figured their abilities.
I dragged the table and chairs outside, continuing my conversation with Alex, now with Yves and soon Eadgyo with a issue of her own. Her hair elegantly done up, with trousers that seem tight for for and baggy tunic that was loosely tucked in.
"Is it true?" She asked. "Is Antonio dead? And you didn't return with his body."
I kept my eyes on the distance, hoping they never return. I guarded the distance, prepared to pounce and make sure every entry way was sealed closed.
"Answer me!" Eadgyo voice grew louder, preparing to attack me for ignoring her.
"You're correct. I saw no reason to risk getting caught by daylight dragging the dead around. What is left has turn ash anyways, so it makes no difference."
"You knew what he wanted."
"He want was impossible to do. Those that were here has left and will never return." I firmly spoke to her, not raising my voice not showing her any regrets or sorrow about leaving Antonio to die.
"You knew he was too prideful to die in such a way."
"I understand that you cared for him but he chose death."
"I knew he wanted to die but he planned to go out some other way. You should of protected him like he had always done for you."
"He has never needed to protect me, in fact, it wasn't something that was ever talked about. I can't die, so being protected wasn't something I never needed. He did what he did out of selflessness."
"Then respect that Selflessness because most humans aren't that."
"Grieve but don't make it seem as if I never respected him. It was mutual respect. It wasn't I who he was protecting when he died. It was lizzie, who he was protecting. Take and grieve with here. Let me deal with the problems at hand." I motioned her to leave, not prepared to hear her scream at me for something he wanted. Death was death.
"Fine but once morning comes, met me in my room. I wish to tell you something important." Eadgyo said, looking away.
"Once day does appear fully in the sky?, I'll seek for you."
"Fine."
"Yves please make sure she okay, Keep an eye on the front door. Make sure who even leaves, is safely in before dawn." I ordered the French man to a task. Simple for him to do.
"Alex, go and help the others. Leave me be I wish to alone.""As you wish." They both said, taking their leave, letting me be alone.
For most of the night I stared alone, viewing the tree line, as if to expect someone to appear from them. I hoped I was wrong, so I didn't have to go against every one. They liked Antonio. They enjoyed seeing him night by night, enjoyed how much he made every night see special. I didn't have that bond with any of them. I didn't know how to have that bond to stop it seeming we were just co-existing in one house.
