Luke sat on his bed staring at her. She walked closer to him from the other end of the room. You could almost cut the tension with a knife as she slowly strutted to him. She put her hands around his neck and straddled his lap. "Carly..." He whispered with fire in his eyes as he slowly rubbed her back.
"You're finally mine again." She said, her blonde hair falling to the side when she leaned in to kiss his neck. He smirked up at her and kissed her back without taking a breath.

April
It's been a couple months since Finn went back to Canada. I miss him more and more everyday. How could I have ruined us? Why did I have to do that? Why did I have to be so needy?

This weekend my mom and I are going to visit my dad and Ryan back in y/t. I'm not very excited because I'll have to face Luke again. Of course he cheated on me. Why didn't I see that coming?
I had all these thoughts whirring around in my head on the car ride there. We were close. Just another exit, then a right and a left. I wish I didn't have to come back. My mom parked in the driveway. I looked out the window and Luke was mowing his front lawn. Out of the corner of my eye I could see Carly making tik toks on the porch. I couldn't help but roll my eyes.
I opened my door and in all of his glory, bleach blonde Luke turned around and stared at me. After an awkward second he returned to his lawn and I could see Carly taking a double take. I went inside.

luke

So I have some really important news.
Do you think you can meet me in the yard at midnight?

I took in a sharp breath and replied.

me
sure.

I ignored my phone for the rest of the day.

Midnight.

I slowly creaked open the front door and zipped up my jacket once I was on my porch. He stood there with his hands in his Letterman Jacket pockets. Now I understand why Finn was so much better. He wasn't a cliché.
I slowly approached him.
"So... what do you need?" I asked quietly.

He just stood and stared at me probably looking for the right words that don't say it wasn't my choice.
"I need your advice. I need.. your help," He said with actual emotion. I have never seen him cry or express any real feeling. I nodded and he continued.
"Carly's pregnant." He stared. My eyes widened and it took my whole will to stop myself from laughing in his face sarcastically. I tried to stay serious. How did I not see this coming sooner?

"Okay. That's serious," I said, trying not to slip a smile. Of course it hurt me. My boyfriend cheats on me and knocks up some blonde cheerleader? Hurtful, but very deserving. Karma at its finest for him.
"What do I do? You always know the answer to everything. I need help," He rambled. I huffed quietly and told him, "Luke. Stay with her and be at her side no matter what. That's what every girl needs. She's probably even more worried than you are. She's going through something really hard. Keep the baby and stay with her. You can figure this out together."
He looked at me and a little smile started to form. "You really think so?" He asked. I nodded and said shortly, "Goodnight and good luck. I hope I get to meet the baby someday." He nodded and I walked back to my door. He stood there still lost in his thoughts. Oh boy did I have a story for Grace.

I was finally back home in Atlanta two days later. Of course he got her pregnant. And while I was visiting Grace none the less.
"I can't believe it!" Grace exclaimed when we sat on her bed in her record covered and guitar filled room. Maggie laid next to her and said, "I saw it coming to be honest." We laughed and Grace asked, "So how are you doing?"

"I'm fine. I actually was about to laugh in his face when he told me!" I giggled and they laughed too. I loved spending time with them. They are the biggest couple goals too. 🥺
"Are you gonna tell Finn?" Maggie asked. "I don't know.. I haven't talked to him much since he left."
Grace slapped my bare knee, "Y/n! He's been gone for three months! You have to talk to him!" I nodded and groaned, "I knoww." Maggie chimed in, "Wait.. isn't he coming next week to film some more of season 4?"
My eyes widened and my heart dropped. He is, isn't he? I'll have to face him again. Why couldn't I? Why was it so scary to see my best friend?

The whole week I sat in my room trying to find the right words to use. How could I make it so that we were the way we were when we first met? We were so happy and silly. Nothing really mattered as long as we were happy. Then it became that nothing mattered only if we were together. We valued being together physically more than our relationship as a whole. That's what I needed to fix. It's been a few months.. distance makes the heart grow fonder, right?

Grace invited us to her house for a sleepover just like "old times." She thought it might help us get back into our "groove." Her, Maggie and I waited downstairs on her couch and my foot wouldn't stop tapping on the blue carpet. Soon I heard footsteps trot down the stairs and my heart started beating faster than it ever has before.
Then he was there. His hair was a little bit longer and so were his skinny legs. His face grew a grin and he ran to me. "Frooty!" He said and picked me up from the couch to pull me into a squeeze. "Finn," I whispered happily into his sweater.
He fell down to the couch, carrying me with him.
"I missed you, froot loop," He said with that same contagious smile. "I missed you, frooty tooty," I said and laid my legs across his lap.

We played games and sang songs together for the rest of the day. Then Maggie and Grace went up to her room.. and you know what happened next. Finn and I were alone in the basement laying on the pool table, staring at the ceiling and playing twenty questions.
"Is it an animal?" He asked. I quietly giggled and said "Yes." He hesitated and then said annoyed, "Do I resemble this animal?" I chucked and said "Yes." He groaned and jokingly said "Mother f****ing frog." We giggled and then he decided to start a new game.

"Okay, truth or dare?" He asked. I turned  to him and played with his curls while he laid on his back.
"Truth!" I said and he smiled. "Hm... who was your favorite singer as a kid?" He asked and I rolled my eyes jokingly, "Justin Bieber, of course." Finn giggled and I asked next. "Truth or dare?"
"Dare."
I had a hesitation of thought.
"I dare you to lick that wall in a figure 8." I said and he scoffed. "F*ck no I'm not doing that!"
"You have to!" I said and he sat up. "Finneee." He jumped off the pool table and licked the wall and I gasped while watching him. I giggled and he laid back down, his legs falling off the table on the opposite end of mine. Our heads were side by side. Our cheeks brushed against each other and I stroked his dark hair again.

"Truth or dare?" He asked and I hesitated, "Dare." He breathed in and said, "Okay... I dare you to tell me what happened in y/t last week."
How did he know? I couldn't hide anything from him. "Well.. Luke told me his girlfriend is pregnant.." I started with. Finn sat up and faced me. "Pregnant?" He exclaimed. I sat up and replied "Yeah! And he asked for my advice!"
Finn rolled his eyes, "What'd you tell him?" I scoffed and said, "Keep the baby and stay with her because she needs his support." Finn nodded, "Thats good advice." I huffed and nodded.
"How are you feeling about it, though?" He asked and rubbed my forearm. I shrugged. "I'm fine. I thought it was funny when he told me though. That's some good karma right there." He laughed and I knew that we were back to normal. That's the way we were. If something weird happens we always bounce back like nothing happened.

He sat criss cross on the table and I put my legs over his. For a while we just looked at each other. That's all we needed. I formulated every feature of his face from the curve of his eyebrow to the sharpness of his jaw. He is beautiful. He is a beautiful boy.
He leaned in, propping himself up with his hands behind me. He was centimeters from my face. When his eyes looked into mine I felt my whole body freeze. "I missed this."
He closed his eyes and planted a warm striking kiss on my lips. He sat back in his original spot and gave me a little smirk.
     "I missed this too."

We laid on the couch and talked until we fell asleep. I really missed him and being myself with him. I missed when things were when we first met. It's finally the way it should be.
