Authors' Note:

Hey guys!!

We are so sorry we didn't update last week. Things got really crazy with school, and so we didn't have a chance to write much. This chapter is much longer, and we will probably update again this weekend.

Thank you for reading, it really means a lot to us.

3rd Person POV:

Over the years, Raelynn and Graeson's friendship grew. They became best friends. You could always find Graeson at Raelynn and Ryder's mansion. Soon, Ryder and Raelynn started considering Graeson as family. He could come by any time, and he could stay as long as he wanted. Ryder had researched a bit about Graeson and his life using his advanced systems, just to make sure his niece wasn't friends with some weird kid (no, he wasn't paranoid, just careful). What he found was quite appaling. It took him a while to figure it out, but he didn't even know that the owner of Beltran Industries had a kid! Graeson must have taken his mother's last name, Carter, which would explain why Ryder had never made the connection before. The poor little guy had a drug-addict mother and a father who was never around. He felt pity for the young boy but he never acted any different around him after he found out about his life than before. He had faced a lot of similar things as a little kid, not necessarily parents who didn't care for him, but he knew that people saying, "oh, I'm so sorry for you," all the time or treating him like a baby never helped things. Ryder swore that he would take care of Graeson, and give him the love that he never received from his own parents.

Raelynn's POV:

"So," I said, leading Grae upstairs. He was over to our house for the first time, and so far, he seemed pretty astonished about how big and luxurious everything was. "This is my room," I opened the fourth door on the right.

"Woah," Graeson said, looking at the room in awe. I mean, I guess it was pretty cool. The theme of the room was mostly gray, white, turquoise, and yellow, my favorite colors. There was a massive four-poster king size bed in the middle (although, I really don't know why a five year old like me would need a bed that big, but Uncle Ry is extra like that) with all of the gray, turquoise, and yellow mini pillows in the world (because who doesn't love pillows?), a gray plush carpet in front of the bed, and on the left of the bed, a nightstand, with a bright lamp that had pretty sun designs carved on it, and a huge window that went from the floor to the ceiling with a nice view of the city. On the wall across from my bed was a giant wall-mounted TV with two bookcases on either side of it. On the right of my bed was another nightstand with a matching lamp to the other one, a gray shag carpet with a turquoise saucer chair and a fluffy white pillow on top of it, a nice desk with a big computer, a door to the bathroom, a walk-in closet, and a small fort that I'd made with Uncle Ry a while ago that I had decided to keep because it made a nice hangout for my lonely self.
Well, I guess I finally wasn't lonely anymore.

"Your room is so cool!" Grae said.

"Thanks," I answered, jumping onto my bed. "But just wait until you see the best part."

"What's the best part?" Grae asked, climbing onto the bed.

"You'll just have to wait until after dinner," I answered. He fake pouted at me and I laughed. "Oh, come on, don't be a whiny baby," I said.

"Rae! You can't just tell me that there's something cooler than your room and then make me wait to find out what it is!" he exclaimed.

"Well, too bad," I laughed a second time, sticking my tongue out. He crossed his arms and pouted again.
