Authors' Note:
Hey everyone!
Happy Mother's Day to all of the wonderful moms out there! Thank you so much for all that you do for us, you are greatly appreciated, and we love you.
We are so sorry for the delayed update (for, like, the third week in a row). Online schooling has been keeping us really busy and we barely have any time to write during the week; most of our writing is done over the weekend, so please bear with us on our messed up updating schedule. We will definitely have updates up every week, not necessarily over the weekend though.
This chapter is really long (even longer than the other chapters), and there is a MAJOR plot twist coming up, so get ready!
Sorry for the cliffhanger in the last chapter.
Actually, no, not really.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
(yes, inspired by the one and only Rick Riordan)

All jokes aside, thank you so much for reading our book! Like we've said before, it means the world to us, and we are so glad we get to share our story with you guys.
Hope everyone is doing well and staying healthy during these hard times.
Please stay safe and follow all safety guidelines, by doing so, you are not only helping yourself, but thousands of others as well.
Now, let's stop being boring and get onto the chapter!

Ryder's POV:
I stared at Blaire, shock spreading across my face. I looked down at the glass bowl that lay shattered on the ground, the tiny pieces sparkling in the light. I had dropped it out of shock. I just couldn't believe...it was so unexpected, yet I wasn't unhappy about it. I was never really one for the unexpected. I don't like surprises, but this one put a smile on my face. As the shock wore off, it was replaced with joy. I couldn't wait to tell everyone especially...Raelynn. Oh my god, Raelynn. I never even considered what she would think. I knew she would be happy for me outwardly, but she would feel so many things on the inside, and never tell me a thing. I knew I had to tell her, but I just couldn't bring myself to. I would wait, I told myself. I would tell her when it was time. I blinked a couple of times to clear my head. I looked at Blaire and held her hands in mine. I was worried about her, I mean, this was unexpected for both of us. But I worried over nothing. I could tell when I met her gaze, we would get through this together.
Raelynn's POV:
I rushed down the hallway, stopping just short of the broken glass littering the ground. I leaned against the wall, catching my breath. I watched silently as Uncle Ry and Blaire held hands and smiled at each other. Smiling. Uncle Ry! He never smiled, at least not like that. Well, not since what happened at the treehouse with Grae. Uncle Ry had been acting sort of distant, and I knew it was my fault. I couldn't figure out what I did. He never wanted to talk about it.
