I got home after the restaurant, threw off my jacket and plopped down into my bed. I didn't feel like doing anything...even sleeping. I just decided to fuck around on my phone even though it wasn't entertaining.
"Ricky?" I heard (Y/N)'s voice from downstairs.
"Who fucking cares?" Chris giggled happily. "I'll meet you in bed." I heard him slap her ass and heavily bolt up the stairs. I squeezed my eyes shut
There were gentle steps following his. I felt my heart pounding as she headed towards my bedroom door.
"Hi, Ricky." I didn't even hear her open the door. She was standing outside of m bed. I was on the bottom, don't ask why I have a bunk bed...it's more convenient...especially to hide from the asshole.
"Oh, hey." I tried to say as cheerfully as possible, giving a friendly wave. She still looked as beautiful as she was from the restaurant.
"Hey, you two behave. Devin called...he wants me over for a few drinks to celebrate." Chris popped his head in my bedroom. I rolled my eyes.
"Okay, see you later, baby." (Y/N) happily waved goodbye. "What happened tonight?" She asked me, concerned, sitting on the edge of my bed.
"What are you talking about?" I asked her, pretending to be clueless.
"You, showing up...us arguing about love..." Her voice was slightly hostile.
"I hate seeing you with him, that's all." I shrugged, looking back down at my phone.
"Obviously." She smiled and rolled her eyes. "What's up with us? We're fucked!" Her laugh was contagious.
"I know." I laughed along with her. "It's nice to have you around." I looked away from her, feeling the warmth of blushing overcoming my face.
"Well...it's just you and I tonight...we could figure this all out." She smiled at me. I nodded, feeling cold on my face again.
"Okay, you start." I figured it was her idea, so she should start.
"Well...I haven't been faithful to anyone." She admitted in a whisper. I heard her choking.
"You're fucking other people, too." I felt myself in utter shock.
"It's not out of spite." She quickly added. "I'm so upset and confused. My life's falling apart..." Her head fell into her hands as I sat up.
"Well fucking the whole town does fuck up your mental health." I pointed out. I tried not to be hostile, but I was jealous and couldn't take it. "I mean...I'll always like you."
"Yeah. It's not worth it." She sighed, looking away from me. I wrapped my arm around her and kissed her cheek.
"Listen, I love you, (Y/N). I know you love me, too, and you love Chris. I think you're just doing this because you just...don't want to pick."
"Your right." She looked at me, eyes glistening in my dim room.
"Right...so how do we fix this?" I asked her. I felt like a genius but I also felt utterly betrayed.
"I don't think I'll ever be able to pick." She wiped tears that were easily falling from her eyes. "You're actually starting to piss me off because you're just...never giving up on me."
"Never." I whispered, kissing her cheek.
"Ricky, stop." She stood up and got away from me. "I've got a lot to think about." She slammed my door as she left. I was alone in my room once again.
"Fuck everything. Why do I even try?" I sighed to myself, lighting my phone back up.
