Avani groaned and stirred.

She opened an eye, expecting to be tied up to some chair in some dark room again.

Something wasn't right.

Comfortable.

It's been almost a year since Avani felt this comfortable.

Yes, she's been sleeping on clouds, but this, this, was the feeling of a real bed.

Avani sat up and glanced around.

Then, her eyes were met by a pair of icy blue ones.

But they didn't look cold.

They almost looked...

Warming.

Avani didn't take any chances even if he was the one who put her in this cozy warm bed.

She flexed her hands and in came a thick green vein that pinned the boy against the wall.

He gagged. "Av-Avani, can y-you at least-"

Avani suddenly realized that he was going to talk to her about something, she released the grip a bit, just enough so he could talk but not move.

The boy rolled his eyes. "I guess this'll do. I can't blame you for being too cautious."

"Just cut to the chase."

"M'name's Cole, just so you know-"

"Cole, just tell me the important things-"

"Jeez, lady! Impatient much?"

Avani rolled her eyes.

"Avani, Azalea's planning something. Something big, and it isn't good. She told you she controlled the winds didn't she?"

Avani nodded.

"Well she doesn't. Remember how she made the flower buds fly? She has control over poison."

Avani didn't know how to feel, she thought Azalea was the one who actually cared for her. "But...but she controlled the winds all the time."

Cole laughed. "She has her minions, Avani. She's not working alone."

Avani looked at the floor feeling betrayed.

"Avani," Cole said. "She's using you. The only reason why you're alive is because she needs you to bring to Paytra so she'll reward Azalea."

"With what? How am I so valuable?!"

Cole's eyes darkened. "You don't see yourself clearly, Avani. Your name literally means Earth. You are Earth herself, Avani. And why would people want Earth?"

Avani frowned. "They want control over me."

Cole nodded. "They can't get control over people and make them obey her. The only way they can get control over Earth is to get control over you."

Avani swallowed. The world just got a whole lot darker.

"I'm here to help, Avani, but I need your help. You need to believe that-"

Suddenly, as if in slow motion, all of the windows were busted open, glass spilling everywhere.

Razor, Datura, and Azalea came rushing in.

"You idiot, you don't tell Avani what to believe," Azalea hissed.

Cole smiled, his eyes were cold now. "You're not doing her any good, Azalea. She knows."
