A/N: Funny thing is, there’s actually a song called ‘What to Do When Your Van Breaks Down in the Middle of Oregon!’ ^.^ And hope you like it so far, I think it might be just a little dumb…but I have to set the scene somehow.

oooOOOooo

Taking a deep breath, I stop before the front door. Deep breaths, don’t hyperventilate, don’t squeal or fangirl or anything. Just be cool. Gerard probably expects you to be mature. Just stay cool.

After a minute of attempting to calm myself down, I open the door.

Sure enough there stands five men in front of me. Frank Iero grins at me, Gerard Way looks relieved and Ray Toro is trying to smile in a friendly way; Bob Bryar is staring off into the distance while Mikey Way is staring at the ground.

I feel myself start trembling just a little bit, as I always do when I’m around new people, even if these are band members I’ve loved for such a long time. I’ve never been lucky enough to get to go to one of their concerts or anything; I just listen to the music and hope for things. I’m just a teenager, after all, and as friendly as I know they are they still intimidate me.

“Hello, I’m Gerard.” Gerard is the first to actually speak, holding out a hand to shake. Shyly I take his warm hand. “You must be death-to-tacos, am I right? Did I get the right house?”

“Um…yeah, you did.” I curse myself for stuttering and getting so nervous. “You guys can come in if you want.”

“Alright.” I step back to let them all pile in and then lead them into my living room where there is thankfully enough space on the two couches we have. Frank comes and sits next to me along with Mikey; Gerard, Bob and Ray sit on the other one.

“So, what’s your real name?” Frank asks, trying to make conversation. I feel all of their gazes on me and start blushing very red very quickly.

“I’m, uh, Victory. But you can call me Vic.” Like Mikey, I stare at the ground. If I can’t do well around people in my own family, how does anybody expect me to act normal around these guys?

“That’s a beautiful name,” says Ray. “But we better get down to business; we have a concert in a couple of days to get to.”

I nod. “So, Gerard said your van broke down, right?”

“Yeah,” Bob mumbles. “All of our phones are dead.”

“I was wondering if you could maybe lend us your phone and we could call a tow service,” Gerard finishes.

“Of course!” I pipe out, a little too cheery. Immediately I duck my head down and feel a bit embarrassed. “It’s to the right in the kitchen, the area code is 522.”

“I’ll call,” Ray volunteers, standing up. “Do you have any Yellowpages we can use?”

“Yeah.” Standing up, I come over next to him in the kitchen, bend down and pull one out of a drawer. Then I go back and sit down by Frank again.

A thought occurs to me a few months later. “Wait, Gerard. You got on Twitter and bothered to send me messages but didn’t call a tow service?”

He shrugs. “We all forgot to charge our phones before entering Oregon. And I don’t know any tow service numbers. So I decided to ask the fans for one, maybe find one around my area.”

I laugh. “Suppose I hadn’t replied?”

“Then we would’ve gone door-to-door and probably ended up here anyways.” Mikey says, giving me a shy smile.

In the other room, I hear Ray put down the phone and he comes back in. “They’ll be here by tonight, but they’re held up. And there’s only one service in town.” How convenient everything is, I think to myself. But I don’t say it out loud because that would be kinda rude.

Everybody groans a little bit. “Well, that sucks,” Bob says.

I feel bad for them- they must be on a schedule, after all, probably on their way to the only city in my state that actually hosts good bands. But I don’t feel so bad after what Frank suggests.

“Why don’t we stay with Vic for the day? That would be alright, wouldn’t it?” He turns to face me and nudges me with his shoulder.

“Oh, I guess that would be alright…” I trail off.

“What about your parents? Are they here? Are they going to be home soon?” Gerard asks with a hint of concern. I realize that he’s thinking that my parents usually leave me alone. Thank goodness they don’t, it would get lonely around here being an only child and all.

I shake my head. “No, they’re at an all-day thing and won’t be back until tomorrow morning. They figured I was old enough to handle myself.”

“So it’s okay with you?”

“Yeah.” I let myself smile a little bit.

“Yayyyyyyy~” Mikey does a little happy dance in his seat with a quiet voice. All of us laugh and I see him turn a little red but I can tell he’s used to being laughed at, in a nice way.

“What’s up, then?” Ray asks me.

I shrug and blush a bit. “I don’t know.”

“Well, what is there to do?”

“I have movies, video games, there’s a movie theater and a Starbucks…” Gerard and Mikey’s eyes light up at this. “Even a mall nearby, I think.”

“Well, it shouldn’t be our choice, it should be yours.” Frank puts his arm around me this time. “I was thinking I might head to the mall.”

“What about the rest of you, what do you guys want to do?”

“Starbucks, definitely,” says Gerard, grinning widely.

“I was thinking I might practice for the concert on my guitar,” Ray adds.

Mikey looks shy again. “I don’t know, probably just hang out here?”

Bob shrugs. “Go to the mall with Frank, I have nothing better to do. But it’s really your choice.”

“So, who’s it going to be?”
