The Blame Game
By Valeria VelezI sit to myself and wonder if there could've been a different way.
A different way out to this pandemic that struck out homes.
I wonder if we had acted sooner,
Would we still be in this mess?Of course, everyone is biased.
I am no exception.
Everyone hates the blame game, I know that,
But why don't we play a little round?
My treat, of course.I would like to start with our dear President.
With no intentions to offend you, sir,
You are not fitted for speaking for your health officials at all.
Let them do all the talking before you screw up again
And supposedly have your words twisted again by do-nothing democrats.Viruses do not disappear into thin air, sir,
I hope you've noticed that by now, seeing the cases mount up.
Perhaps you should've cared more about your citizens rather than the stocks.
You love playing the blame game too, right?
Like how you blamed the health officials who know better than you,
Or an administration who would've never seen something like this coming.Testing is available to everyone? Yeah right.
Would you rather put your citizens' lives on the line
Instead of closing the economy and borders at once?
And then you wonder why you get so much criticism on your work;
You don't care, sir, about our safety, do you?Why don't we switch it up? Let's talk about these protesters.
I can't bring myself to understand why the same people who want to end lockdowns
and put others in danger are the same people who are wearing masks.
Why? You're contradicting yourself.
Stay home and wait it out before it happens again and you die.Oh, it looks like you would like to keep playing
This stupid game we call the blame game.
I'm afraid I'm running out of time, but you could continue for me.
And thus, I invite you to play with me;
to play this game we call the blame game!
