Well, eventually I had to write about one of the famed tragic love stories right?
Here's Lancelot and Guinevere
Edit: yes, i've just exhausted all movies/series about this story.. i'm quite obsessed with it..
This is one of the first poems I had done, so it is quite..ambitious. I hope I will encapsulate the emotions better in the future.
I'll probably do more of this in the future till I'm satisfied. :'( ——————————————————————
To Guinevere
You're visage inspires me,
You're beauty transends all worldly things,
But loyalty appears to be everything,
And I would never dare.
So, please allow this pillar to divide us,
Just let our hands meet,
And exchange glances if we must,
For I fear what we might do-
would upset everyone but us.
And I must beg you to never meet me,
As I force these thoughts out of my mind,
But when I close my eyes-
And ask my feet to take me anywhere,
Your image appears in my mind,
And it becomes a reality.
To Myself
This is the final warning to myself,
Please heed it Knight Du Lac,
Both our oaths lie in the same man,
To anyone- this is a fact.
And if loyalty be questioned-
They'll see it's still very well intact,
But to whom does it lie to?
I'm afraid we'd be damned.
To Arthur
I have broken this earthly vow, Bestowed upon me I blame me for our suffering I have bewitched her— Is there really a need for framing? The culprit of this affair Is none other Than your friend And for that I shall atone Just let me bear this alone Allow me this mercy For I am ashamed not of myself, But of the atrocities I commited against her She had done nothing But I wished to be with her
