The Enchanted Forest
One Year Ago..."Your parents mentioned something about you having missing memories." Regina spoke out into the otherwise quiet room. The sound of her voice caused Grace to whip her head around towards her as she was snapped out of her thoughts. After that second incident with the flying monkey, she took Robin Hood's advice and went to see Regina, but not before visiting her parents, of course. She explained to them what happened and they immediately grew worried at the thought of Grace and this witch possibly having history with one another, them both agreeing that she should see the former Evil Queen for help. She didn't object, but then again, she wasn't exactly for the idea, either. I mean, what's Regina gonna do to help make this situation any better? If you asked Grace, she'd say this whole thing has come to an impasse.
About a week has gone by since she was almost taken by the winged beast, and since then Regina has been trying her hardest to find anything on the Wicked Witch, but to no avail. Grace could tell that something was different about today, as she usually doesn't summon her to 'help with magic'. It was a bit of an odd request when she heard it, but she of course didn't object and instead followed the former Evil Queen to her spell room. Up until Regina spoke, she had been standing in the middle of the small room the woman had taken to using for all her magical needs. Grace's eyes were swarming over every little bit of potions and magic within her sights. It was all a bit overwhelming, if she was being honest. She had no idea what any of this stuff did. What if something happens and she bumped into something in here? Will she have killed everyone? What would happen if someone farted in here? Would that someone or something explode? It's need to know, that way Grace will be sure to know what to do and what not to do while she's in here.
Finally, she turned away from the tables filled with magic crap and whatnot and made eye-contact with Regina. She shifted on her feet before turning and beginning to stroll in her direction. "Yeah, I always have." She shrugged, the fact not seeming like such a big deal to Grace anymore. "Why, you think I knew the witch when I was a kid?"
Regina couldn't help but give a nod, along with a shrug, as she had hit the nail on the head. "That very well could be. It would make the most sense, at least." Regina admitted. After a short pause, she shifted the conversation to what she'd come up with as a solution. "I can try to conjure up a potion and see if it restores your memory."
"And if it doesn't?" Grace asked as she stopped opposite to her on the other side of the table.
Regina looked up at Grace and shrugged. "The worst that will happen is that it doesn't work. Or, you find out those missing years had nothing to do with the witch at all." She added. "And while that's probably for the best, it doesn't exactly help us."
While it seemed like she was trying to make Grace feel better about this whole situation, her attempts were fruitless. The girl held her hands up in defense. "Hey, I'm only doing this on the off chance that I really did know the witch. If we can figure out how to stop her, then to hell with the costs." She said truthfully. In all honesty, she only wanted to restore her memories if it meant stopping the witch. Any other reason than that is just plain selfish and can also result in Grace remembering a bad past. She happens to like her life right now, thank you very much, even if they have a mad witch after them all.
Regina seemed to understand what she was getting at and nodded before responding to her last statement. "I like the way you think." She said with the smallest hint of a grin. Finally, she turned back towards her spell book in thought. "The process will take a little over an hour but first, I have to actually figure out how to make it, so it could be awhile."
Grace simply nodded, her not knowing a thing about magic and the processes she will have to go through to make the potion. "Okay." She replied. After another moment of silence, she suddenly realized that she had nothing to do. "Is there anything I can do to help?"
