Mom and I immediately ran to the emergency room as soon as we arrived at the hospital.
The hospital's smell entered my lungs which was making me more nervous and worried. I was having cold sweat.
We saw a stretcher heading towards us. There, I saw Saru who was covered with blood and doesn't seem to be breathing.
"Saru!" I shouted my lungs out as my body moved on its own as I ran towards my brother. "Saru!"
Mom stopped me from approaching my brother by hugging my waist. "Sakura! Don't!"
I kept on calling my brother, "Saru! Saru! Don't you dare leave us! Saru!"
Tears were now streaming down my face. I tried squirming out of my mother's grasp but I couldn't.
My chest was hurting so much. I could feel the pain all over my body, not just my chest.
A young male doctor came into view, "We'll do what we can to save him. For now, kindly stay put."
"No!" I screamed. "Saru needs me! I must be at his side! I need to tell him I'm here!"
"Sakura!" I heard my mother's ear piercing shout. I stopped screaming and squirming. "Stop it... please."
Mom started crying in front of me. Her eyebrows were furrowed, her body was shaking, and tears were rolling down her flustered cheeks.
The sight only made me cry more. I gave up fighting back and wrapped both of arms on my mother as the two of us broke down.
