Faith tossed the ball up and down. It hit the ceiling and shot back to the floor, skidding off into the hallway. She sighed and peered down the hallway it disappeared into, seeing nothing but a man mopping the floor and, across the room that the hall led to, a smiling man giving a little boy something she couldn't see. She leaned back on her chair, waiting for Peter to come and tell her she could surprise Dee with her presence.

Waiting.

Waiting.

Waiting.

Nothing.

Wait.

A pitter-patter of footsteps rushed towards Faith, belonging to a boy with ruffled auburn hair and a panicked expression on his face. "Ican'tfindherFaithyouhavetohelpmeDee'sgonemissing."

(A/N: To anyone who died trying to lead that last part, he said "I can't find her Faith you have to help me Dee's gone missing.")

Faith looked up, confused but alarmed by the last words in his sentence. "Peter, calm down. What's going on?"

Peter took a moment and began to speak, making slightly more sense. "I was going to find Dee and I couldn't find her I've looked through the entire place and she isn't here."

Faith frowned, scanning the parts of the hallway she could see. "She probably just ran off or something. She does that."

Some of the panic left Peter's brown eyes. "She's been gone for a long time."

Faith got up and took her brother's arm. "Then we can look for her. After all, four eyes are better than two."

"You say to the guy with glasses."

She chuckled. "Six, then."

(A/N: Well, I think we all know where this is going."
