*Narrator POV*
We return to Rose's apartment. Both Oliver and Rose sit uncomfortably on the couch. Rose itches for the right words to break the silence.*Rose POV*
Being me, and far from perfect, I stared at Oliver until he said something, which was when Melina came home at 6:30 from her boutique. It felt like I analyzed him for hours. I'm insane. It's official.
We toured the whole apartment in around 30 minutes. Afterward, I tried to familiarize him with South Carolina culture. Because, honestly, a small town in South Carolina is better than him being in L.A.
I showed him the balcony first. The January moon shown brightly against the late sunset sky. The best part is, we didn't kiss.
"You can see the ocean from here. It's beautiful. Thank you for doing this for me! I would've never been able to be here without your generosity." He said, suddenly. He looked at me first, looked at the moon, his olive eyes catching the moon's light and sparkling for a second.
I almost told him I didn't send him here. But then I didn't. He seemed too pure to hurt.
"I was reluctant to help. Besides, it would look good on my college resume." I say, jokingly. "But in all seriousness though, I need someone besides Melina and Dolly in my life..."
"What do you mean? Don't you have friends or parents to go home to?" My short answer, no.
"That's a story for another time. Anyways, Mel's gonna be home soon, and she doesn't want me watching my 'cartoons' while she's there."
He followed me back into the living room. I flicked the TV on and went into recordings.
"Don't tell this Melina character that I mentioned anything if it hurt you that bad..." Oliver pulled me into a hug while humming a melody I found quite catchy and familiar.
"I will don't worry. Now, let's go get to watching Stephen Galaxy!" I took so long to pull away, I never wanted to leave his embrace. As soon as I thought this, my face heated up and I pulled away.
There might be more of a friendship in the future.
