Kokomi Teruhashi had it all: good looks. Yup, that's all she had, but that's where the rest comes in. See, she has her own fan club, every boy at school swoons at her, and she does things to make sure everyone is happy (In her own sick twisted way). Hell, she could part the sea and even then the sea would become sweet if she touched it! (Or at least, that's what she thought might happen).

So when she saw Saiki out in the open, she really thought she would be doing him a favor and, you know, grace him with her presence. However, he could care less for her. Saiki was okay just giving, not really being noticed. Teruhashi was literally a people magnet, the opposite of what he wanted. And the fact that he could see Nendo getting closer to him. He really wanted normal brown/black hair at that point, he could just blend in. Should he teleport? There were a lot of people around, and he would get rid of both nuisances. Besides, (Y/N) promised him homemade coffee jelly, and he wasn't about to pass that up. He didn't take into account that Teruhashi would... fall in love with him. The idea of dating her really made him want to throw up, but he had some coffee jelly to get to.

"Hey Ku, you seem off. Everything okay in there?"

You looked at Saiki straight in the eyes after your 3rd Punch Siblings win against him. Normally, he would beat her at least once (As much as Saiki claims otherwise, (Y/N) is pretty good at games, better than him, but he reads her body language just so he can get an upper hand). You booted up the next game, knowing that he wanted a rematch.

I saw Teruhashi on the way here. She fell in love with me.

Saiki landed a one-hit K-O to her character.

"WHAT?! NO WAY! SHE'S SUCH A FAKE PERSON! SHE ACTUALLY HAS FEELINGS?!"

Good grief (Y/N), calm down.

"I will NOT calm down Kusuo! She has a crush on you! You literally got the most popular power-hungry student in PK to like you romantically!"

You were shocked, to say the least, that your childhood best friend had attracted the attention of Teruhashi. Sure, you knew someone was bound to like Saiki, but you never thought you'd have some high-end competition. You knew the inner workings of Kokomi Teruhashi and she only had two things on her mind: being the perfect pretty girl and marrying rich. Both you and Saiki knew that. In fact, you were so flustered with the information that you let your guard down, allowing Saiki to read your mind for just a second.

What about me? Is he going to choose her over me?

You do know I still prefer your company over hers, right?

You blushed and reigned yourself in. You couldn't lose focus at all or Saiki would find out.

"Ah, sorry. I just thought, you know, if you had feelings for her you would want to, oh I don't know... pursue her maybe?"

Why would I pursue her? I don't like her, and besides, why would I want a romantic relationship with someone? That's just annoying. Good grief, just think about it makes my skin crawl.

"Right..."

This is why you would never confess to Saiki or get your hopes up. He hated the prospect of dating and you would bother him about it. You'd rather he be happy than you be happy.

"But what about her trying to get your attention at school? Not to mention that she literally has a cult following at school."

Well... Why don't we pretend to date?

Say what now?

"Ku? What the actual fuck are you saying right now? You literally just said you hated the prospect of dating someone?!"

That's the thing. We're already close enough because we're childhood friends, no one would think much of it. I'd go back to being a background character.

"Who are you and what did you do with Kusuo?"

(Y/N)...

"No Ku! You think it's all simple but you don't know how Teruhashi will react or what she will do or... Kusuo she might screw over our friendship! I don't want to lose you..."

Good grief (Y/N). Nothing is going to happen, and nothing is going to change. We just present ourselves differently.

You sighed.

"Okay. I hope you're right Ku."
