Chapter 22

"What?" I ask staring at Cam and he freezes and we stand there in awkward silence

"I meant- I love like having you here.. not like love love you" he says and laughs awkwardly and I pull his hands off my waist.

"um.. right" I reply

"I think I'm just gonna" I say and I reach for the door and he scoots out of the way

"Yeah, yeah sorry" he says and I smile at him then zoom out of the room.

I run into the room where Jade, Alexa and I are staying in and I slam the door shut and lean against it.

"What happened?" Alexa asks while she sits on the bed rubbing Jade's back as she lays on the bed on her stomach.

"Cameron just told me he loves me" I say out loud

"What??" Jade says as she sits up

"Girl, lay down!" Alexa says

"I can't sleep now. What did you say back?" She asks as she swats Alexa's hand away.

"Ow!" Alexa yelps and Jade grabs her hand and kisses it
"There." She says then turns back to me
"What happened" she asks

"I- I just freaked out and left. Was that bad? Oh my god that was bad. Why did I do that?" I ask freaking out now

"You just left??" Alexa adds
"Well.. he was like oh I didn't mean it like that but his face got bright red so I don't know" I say back and I walk over to the bed and plop down on it.

"I wanna fall into a hole and stay there for the next 4 years" I say as I cover my face with my hands

"Well.. do you think you love him?" Jade asks softly and I stay quiet for a couple of seconds thinking.

"No... yes? I don't know." I reply

"You shouldn't have to think if you love someone" Alexa says sternly
"No hesitation." Jade adds
"Exactly." Alexa resounds

I lay my hands above my head and I let out a breath

"I mean I have love for him. He holds a special place in my heart but I don't think-" I say until we hear a knock on the door and we all turn our heads to stare

"Who is it?" Alexa asks
"It's uh.. Cameron" we hear from behind the door and my eyes go wide and I turn to the girls

"What do I do??" I whisper as I sit up quickly
"Hold on" Jade says as she gets up and opens the door just enough so she can walk out into the hallway.

She shuts the door behind her and we hear light conversation happening but it's too muffled to understand

"What're they saying?" I ask
"No clue" Alexa replies

Suddenly the door opens and Alexa comes in and looks at me.

"Go talk to him" she says and I hesitate as I gulp down my words

"I-" I start
"Just go." She says calmly and I get up and look over at Alexa and she sends me a sincere smile and I turn to the door and grab the handle.

I slowly open the door, step out, then shut it.
Cam's leaning against the banister straight ahead from the door and he looks up at me.

"hey." I say quietly as I walk over to him and his two hands that were once placed on the banister are now holding me.

I furrow my brows, clearly confused by what's going on but I hug him back.

"You okay?" I ask
"I'm sorry" he says as we pull away and look at each other

"Huh?"
"I didn't mean to pressure you like that."

I stay quiet for a second but then realize that Jade must've told him how I was feeling.

" I know I said I didn't mean it like that but I do.. I really really do" he says and I just gaze up at him as my mouth opens then shuts

"And I know you probably don't feel the same.. yet.. but I am willing to wait." He says and I just stare at him shocked

"I would wait a million years if it meant you'd love me" he says my brows immediately jump up

"Cameron-"
"Wait. I just wanna get this off my chest" he says and I wait for him to speak

"I just want you to know that I truly do love you. I've never ever felt this way about a girl and honestly.. it's fuckin scary." He says and I giggle as I place a hand on his cheek as I gaze at him.

" I love you Cara.. I'm not pressuring you to say it back, but I can't wait for the day you do" he says and I feel tears building up in my eyes and I turn away for a second

He grabs me softly and I turn back to him and he gazes at me

"I've never had anyone talk to me or even treat me the way you do" I say and he smiles
"Guess we're each other's firsts now" he says and I laugh and lightly hit his chest

"I really like you Cam.. I'm just waiting for that L word to come in and sweep me off my feet" I say and he smiles and he grabs my face softly and places a kiss on my nose

"I love you Cara" he says and I smile as I press my lips against his softly

We pull apart and he just holds me tight around my waist as we rock back and forth

"You're not really gonna let me sleep alone tonight right?" He asks and I laugh as I pull away to see his face
"I should" I say and he raises an eyebrow

"But.. I like to be cuddled" I say and he smiles
"I know" he replies and I grab his face with my hand and squeeze his cheeks and kiss him a few more times

"Let me grab something and I'll meet you in the room" I say and he nods

"Okay, I'll be waiting" he says and I smile and turn to the room and open the door then shut it behind me.

They both smile at me and I smile at them

"How was it?" Alexa asks
"Actually don't answer that, we were eavesdropping the whole time" Jade admits and I flip them off

"Personal space would be nice" I reply
"Girl, not when you're basically living a wattpad story. Love stories like these are only in books or movies let's be realistic" Alexa says and I laugh

I walk over to the nightstand and grab my charger and turn to them

"See y'all in the morning" I say and they wink at me
"Don't be too loud, I like my sleep" Alexa says and my jaw drops

"We are not having sex" I say and Jade rolls her eyes

"Yeah okay" she says

Alexa laughs as she starts fake moaning and Jade joins in

"Oh Cameron!" They say and I gasp
"I'm leaving!" I say as I laugh and run out of the room

I turn to the right to go down the hall and see Cam standing in the doorway with his hands above his head holding on to the frame with his head cocked to the side giving me a confused look

I shake my head
"Please ignore them" I say and he laughs as he brings his hands down and grabs my hand leading me into the room and shutting the door behind him.
