"Get some sleep maya.." I whisper and she nods slowly closing her eyes.
I step outside the room and lean against the wall. We have been here for hours now. Test after test. "Bella?" I hear and know it's Lily's mum. "The doctor is on his way round to tell you the test results.." she says and I nod "thank you" I answer and she walks away getting back to her job. "Arabella?" I turn to see the doctor "Yea?" He says "it's not good news.."
"Cancer?" I ask and he nods slowly. My heart drops. My sister doesn't deserve this. "Lung cancer..we are gonna keep her in because the cancer shouldn't of attacked that fast somehow it did we need tests..also visits are over" I just nod knowing this fucker is gonna make me be the one to tell an 8 year old she's probably going to die. I pick up my phone and call Nate "hello?" I hear "Nate" I start crying immediately "hey what happened?" He asks "can you come pick me up" "Yea where are you" "hospital" I hang up and wait outside for a minute before I see him pull up. He jumps out and I just hug him. "Hey what happened?" He asks "maya has cancer" "fucking hell im sorry" he hugs me tightly
Maya has been ok for a couple of days besides the constant moaning that her head hurts. But she doesn't take pain relief like?
We moved into a new place which maya is hating me for but with the way she is that's kinda all I care about. I don't talk to maya about her cancer. She knows she has it. But I don't bring it up. "Heyyy" I hear and lily walks in with Nate behind her "yo" I say they both hug me, lily giving me a look as Nate hugged me. "I'm hungry" Nate says and I roll my eyes "as always. You know where my kitchen is." He takes offence to it and me and lily laugh. "Can I stay at my friends?" I hear and turn to see maya "maya that's not-" "Bella I have cancer not a catchable virus." "Listen to me maya. You are 8. Do not give me attitude. Do as your told go get ready for bed your not going." She just goes into her room. "Woahhh you as a parent would be terrifying." Says lily "that's why I don't want children." We both sigh.
