That afternoon we all decided to meet up at Scarlett's house since it was closer to the place where the fair was taking place.

It was almost 17:30 and I had to change quickly if I wanted to make it there on time.

Why did you saw two more episodes of Doctor Who? You knew there wasn't time!

TIME IS RELEVANT

Yesbut now you are late!!!

ButMaze... It's David Tennant!!!

Yeah... Can't argue with that...

~Ok. Before I continue the story of my life, I should probably try to explain the monologue that just occurred and makes me sound like a psychopath.

First off, I'm not a psychopath. I'm a high-functioning sociopath, do your research.

Second, you know that almost everyone has a little voice in their head that either helps them with everyday problems or encourage them to do things they don't want to. Let's say it happens to me, too.

It all started when I couldn't control my inner voice. Now, don't take it wrong. I still can't control Maze, but by giving him a name (yes he is a he) I sound more like I have an earbud connected to an AI, that gives me crap advice and acts childish on stupid situations.

Back to the story~

I changed in my denim shorts and my favourite long sleeve, black blouse. I run towards the door, a messenger bag hanged on my shoulder with all of my stuff, and opened it ready to go. I stepped out of the house, only to realize that I forgot to wear shoes. Good thing my parents aren't in town to yell at me for being forgetful. Again.

Two minutes later, I was on my way to Scarlett's house, this time wearing shoes.

When I reached the front door, I rang the bell and waited for her to let me inside. To my surprise, I was greeted by her one-year-older brother, Joseph. He was a nice guy. Tall, blond hair and gorgeous blue eyes. He has the kind of eyes that will hypnotize you and leave you speechless. The girl he'll choose is going to be pretty lucky.

When he realized that it was me on the other side of the doorstep, his eyes popped out and immediately closed the door on my face.

Weird.

This time I knocked and I was hoping for a more welcome and normal development of events. He opened again with a strange, forced smile on his face.

"Before you close the door again, can I please come in?" I asked him, emphasizing on the word 'please'.

He moved so I could get inside. His every movement showed embarrassment. I smiled at him, which made him blush even more than before.

Before I could say something to him, someone yelled from the next room: "Well, if it isn't my always-late best friend." I looked at my phone and indeed I was late 13 minutes. Mark the sarcasm.

"I'm terribly sorry for not being here 10 minutes ago"

"12. You should have been here 12 minutes ago. Now 13."

Seriously, why I'm friends with that girl?

Because you're nothing without her.

Shut up

"Can we just go? Is everyone here?" As soon as I said that, the boys showed up from behind Scarlett, ready to leave. I turned around to exit the house. Good thing Joseph left when I was speaking to his sister. Everyone followed me and we started our way towards the fair.

"So, Chris, are you and your family planning to stay long?" Marcus asked him.

"I don't really know. My parents are travelling again because their job requires it, and they always take me with them."

"What' the job?"

"My mother is something like a Private Investigator. I think. She is assigned missions the police isn't capable of solving and my father just helps along. Can we change the subject?" His facial expressions darkened when he mentioned his father. Hurt and sadness shadowed his eyes. He acted really strange like he was hiding something. Or maybe he was lying.

He looked at me, our eyes connected. His were full of emotions. He was trapped in his own mind and he didn't have a way out. When I opened my mouth to talk to him, to ask him if he was okay, he looked down on the road. Maybe I was wrong. Maybe he didn't want to talk.

We kept talking about what was new in our lives in the past years that we hadn't seen each other until we reached the place where the fair was taking place.

All four of us watched the colourful world that was in front of us. Thousand of games were waiting to be played by kids and adults. The fairy wheel rose high to the sky above our heads. Small red and blue lanterns were starting to light up, creating a long path through this entire paradise of fun.

Scarlett took my hand and dragged me to the entrance before I could say a word. I looked behind us at the boys and smiled. Laughter echoed through my ears as they were walking towards the two of us with big grins on their faces.

It's gonna be a long night.

You have no idea what's coming.
Anyway...
Here is Chapter 3. A little smaller than the others but full of info super important for the story.
