Avion was soaring throughout the air, sheer panic in his mind. How could he have been so foolish? Of course he fell for something so predictable as baiting. Please no, please no. Not like this. Searing pain filled his senses as the human plunged its sword into his tail, over and over and over. The essence of Avion's beloved god Dormin spilling out and falling into the lake below. With every stab, he felt weaker. He flapped his wings weakly, the human traveling up his spine and to his shoulder. Avion felt faint, he had to stop flapping or he'd plummet.

Burning agony filled his left wing tip. He flipped over, in an attempt to get the wandering human to stop, but it wouldn't. And then, his right sigil was gone. No, no, no. Please. No. The water was getting closer. His vision started to fade. Please no. Please, NO!

Avion woke up with orange eyes, trying to scream but nothing came out. His breathing was ragged and whimpering. He started to panic again when he felt a soft hand clutch his fur, but looked down to see Aiko sleeping. Her tribal markings glowed, but, strangely enough, not as harshly as Gaius described it. It seemed rather uneven. The markings on her neck, forearms, and lower legs were dim, while the closer to her chest they got, the harsher they glowed. Strange, but Avion decided not to pry. Aiko seemed like she was just sleeping, she wasn't kicking or talking. He directed his attention towards Kuromori, who was sleeping just as soundly. The lizards around the area were huddled around her, squeakily snoring or slapping each other in the face while they dreamed.

Avion was very young compared to the rest of the colossi. While not as young as Hydrus, who by human equivalence would be seven or eight, he certainly wasn't old. Avion would be around the age of nineteen if he were a human. Colossi couldn't die of old age, they stop once fully grown and stay that way forever, but damn did Gaius or Malus feel like grandpas. Speaking of the latter, Malus was rather old, even for a colossus. Despite that though he never stuck to the old ways and always wanted to learn. He looked tough, but on the inside, he was a curious and sweet fellow.

He missed that colossus. Gaius definitely missed him the most out of all the colossi, but still.

"I wonder what he'll think of Aiko," Avion pondered, "He's always been so inquisitive about humanity."

One thought led to another.

"...What will Dirge do?"

With these thoughts distracting him, Avion fell right back asleep, the moon's brilliant light shining into the Colosseum.
