Kami's P.O.V

I wake up with the sun shining brightly in my face. I blindly reach over and feel for Soda or Pony and just grab the sheets. They must be already up and ready for the day. I get out of bed and throw a black and grey sweatshirt on over my tank top and some jeans.

I walk out of my room to the scent of chocolate cake and eggs. What a wonderful combination. I make my way to the kitchen to see all of my brothers sitting at the table eating breakfast.

"Mornin guys," I yawn.

Soda smiled, "Hey look who decided to join us."

I turned and smiled at Soda. "I can't sleep all day ya know."

He nodded while Darry pulled a chair out for me.

"Are you feelin better kiddo?" Darry asked.

I honestly don't feel completely better. My stomach still churns at the thought of food, and I still have a headache. I've already been too much of a burden on my poor brothers, so I decide to play it off.

"I feel perfectly normal now! Sorry I was such a pain."

"No no no, don't apologize! We were just so worried about you," Darry reassured me.

I nodded and sat down next to Pony.

"Are you going to eat Kami?" Pony asked.

"Nah I'm not hungry," I told him.

Soda piped in, "You should really eat somethin."

"No thanks. I promise I'll eat some food later."

They all shrugged and went back to eating. After a few minutes of sitting there staring at the ceiling, I decide to get up and go watch some t.v. I turned on some movie that looked interesting and just sat on the floor watching it. In all reality I was completely embarrassed about me being sick in front of everyone. I hated showing weakness. Even though I'm the youngest, I want to show I'm tough. I'm sitting there lost in thought when Two-Bit comes bounding through the door.

"Mickey should be on! I want to watch Mickey!" He screamed.

"Yeah well come in here and watch it then." I shout back at him.

"Oh hey kid! Are you feeling better?" He asked.

"Yeah I'm fine! Good as new," I tell him giving him a big, fake cheesy smile.

"Well I'm glad. I was worried," he says patting my shoulder.

I mentally eye roll. I hate everyone being so concerned for me. Yeah I know that sounds selfish or whatever, but I hate people pitying me.

After awhile of sitting there, I decide to go to my best friend Catie's house. Not wanting to bother anyone else, I wrote a note saying I was going to Catie's and stuck it on the fridge.

I put on my white high top converse and open the door carefully closing it behind me so no one hears me leaving. I just don't feel like anyone trying to stop me. I just need some time alone.

I walk down the street just looking at my shoes. I kick rocks along the way to pass the time. I take a  shortcut behind a bar full of drunks, and walk down her street. Her house is only four blocks from mine, so I didn't take very long to get there.

I make my way to the front door and knock. Catie's mom is the one to answer the door.

"Oh hey there Kami! It's real nice to see you here," she says motioning for me to come in.

"It's real nice to see you too," I say.

"Catie should be up in her room. Just go right on up."

"Thanks Mrs. Thomas."

I walk up the stairs and barge into Catie's room without knocking.

"Oh you scared me man," she said sighing heavily.

"Perfect," I said grinning.

"So what brings you here?" She asked.

"I don't know. I was just bored and came by to see if you wanted to go on a walk to the park," I told her.

"Of course I want to go," she squealed, "let me change out of these pajama pants and then we can go."

"Alright then. I'll be outside waiting for you then."

With that I walked out of her room, down the stairs, and outside. I just waited sitting on her front porch. I walk is just what I need to feel better.
