---
maybe i should write you down,
down the pages of the book never published;
maybe i should drink it down,
down to the liver of a never-drunk.maybe i should write you down,
down the pages of my last subject's textbook,
so i can remind myself of the days
where dusk turned to dawn too quickly.maybe i should write you down,
'til every word heals the jabs of knives,
knives of love against my fragile heart,
'til the words became skinned with pain.maybe i should write you down,
'til the pain becomes blood,
blood pressed down the pages,
pages of the book never published.maybe i should write you down,
'til i can say i can now run,
walk, or even just stand by my own feet
on a bridge paved with fire.maybe I should write you down,
'til it finally feels okay
to heal, to smile, and to drown
without you day by day.maybe I should write you down,
'til it all finally rhymes.---
