When they reached the top floor of the Percival, they viewed the vibrant red room. The entire captain's deck was surrounded by a transparent circular glass walls which allowed for a transparent view of the entire ship. There was a fine dining table in the middle of the room and towards the end of the room was the communications station and helm.
"It's amazing", Jasmyne admitted.
"Thank you Ms. Costa", Captain Wade said, eyeing her in her dress. "What do you think of my humble abode?", he asked the gentlemen.
"Humble is not the word I'd call it", Edison admitted as well.
Captain Wade turned to Paul. Paul looked the Captain in the eyes. "I've always wanted a ship like this. To be a captain like this."
"Well", Captain Wade said as they all sat at the dinner table. "From our research with the Glory, your name came up in a few trade documents. I guess you are quite the prodigy of Captain Connolly. You aren't a simple salvager at all, are you?". Jasmyne watched Paul with curiosity.
"I am a simple Salvager, Captain. But Glory is a free ship. We have no castes. No royalty. If you work hard and believe you are rewarded. You aren't born to your job for your entire life. That is why it is the best ship that has ever existed. My people are great people."
Captain Wade smirked and took a sip of wine.
Paul continued. "Not to take away from the Percival. She truly is a fine ship", he said looking around.
"So you're saying that one day you'll be the captain of the famed Glory? Is that it?". Captain Wade's questions had a probing touch to them. "After all, it does appear that Captain Connolly wants you as his successor. You must be battle hardened. You must deliver results?"
Paul nodded. "He does. He's always been like a father to me. But I don't plan on taking any position as Captain of the Glory. I want to find my own path. Not follow in the footsteps of other men. I want other men to follow in my footsteps." Jasmyne would intermittently glance at Paul's direction.
Captain Wake nodded and toasted his glass. "Well I hope you find your ship, Mr. Wake. After setting up a trade deal with the Glory of course." Paul, Jasmyne, and Edison raised their glasses and took their sips.
"And what of my Elation merchants? Northerners are quite far from home, now aren't you?".
Jasmyne gave a light smile. "We'll definitely be able to put you in a trade deal with us. Mr. Cable and I are both two of the most qualified merchants aboard the Elation. Assuming, there is still an Elation left."
"Why wouldn't there be?", Captain Wade asked, concerned.
"We were in great need of repairs when I left the ship, the engine had flooded and become rusted. The quality of care for the ship has gone down considerably since Captain Osiris took control. We were not able to get the parts, unfortunately." Jasmyne sighed.
"Perhaps I can be of assistance to that", Captain Wade said, extending his hand over to cover Jasmyne's. "I'm a widowed man. I happen to be friends with the richest man in all of Aquaria, Reaver Cunningham. He can find any part and any mechanic for a modest price if you and I just...". His words trailed off.
Jasmyne didn't make eye contact with the Captain. Paul kept to himself and leaned back in his chair. She wasn't his girlfriend, why should he get involved? She was just a cash reward, that was all she was, right?
"Well, Captain Wade", Jasmyne began. "The problem is, well -". She thought for a moment. "We aren't even sure if the Elation is still around. A dark Frigate was chasing the Elation down. A frigate called The Black Death."
