Eijirou's p.o.v

The next morning was hectic all around the castle. It was finally announced to the kingdom that the ball was in two days, the kingdom and people were preparing. It was crazy in the town for the maidens to buy dresses. Because Kats already had a chosen bride for himself, the ball was instead changed to a celebration of their marriage. And now everyone was even more excited to go. Of course, the town was crazy but the castle staff was even crazier. Kitchen staff preparing food, servants decorating the kingdom and the king and queen having to make the transition of king and queen passed to their son and his bride. I, was not prepared for this one bit. Having never been in the castle before, I didnt know how to prepare but I figured as his personal servant, I would just make sure everything was perfect for him. That's all I wanted. Waking him up at seven, he yawned, slowly getting up. "You need to be down in the fitting room in twenty minutes." I said, pulling out a simple shirt and pants. "They need your fitting sizes for your suit and they need you down urgently." I stated, rushing him to get up, not wanting him to be late.

"Slow down. It's not that big if a deal." He tried to convince me to slow my pace but I couldn't. I was getting jittery and didnt exactly feel like getting yelled at by the king. "I just don't want you to get in trouble you know? And it's a good impression on the king and queen of Oryn if you're early." I convinced, handing him the simple clothes. "They are taking measurements so you could be comfortable." I said, turning away so he could change. Moments later, he tapped on my shoulder. "Okay, I'm dressed. But we still have fifteen minutes before we have to get to the fitting room. Wanna grab breakfast?" He asked, walking towards the door. "I assume even if I say no, we're still getting breakfast?" I asked. "Yup. Now let's go I'm starving." We walked down to the kitchen where the cooks were preparing food for Friday. "I think you'll have lunch later today." I tried to reason. "I'm hungry now so I'll be eating now. Follow me." He was grumpy in the mornings I guessed. I followed behind him, per his orders and we ended up at the stables. "What are we doing here. I'm not allowed back here since the first day when the guards told me-" he cut me off with a sharp glance. "I don't care what they told you, you'll follow my orders. What I say."

He opened the stable gates, pulling a rein off the wall near him and placing it on the horse, placing a saddle as well and getting on. "I can't allow you to go. I'm not allowed here and you should be in the fi-" he snapped, staring down at me from where he was sitting. "I don't care if that's where I'm supposed to be. I want to go where I please. You're only protecting yourself from getting yelled at. Don't think I don't know why you've rushed me. You're just trying to save yourself. Well too bad. I'm doing what I want for a change. If you won't respect that, then you can leave." And without a moments hesitation, he rode off, somewhere I didn't know. Was he running away or was he just going for a small ride? I didn't know yet I didn't care either. Before I even had the chance to tell the king about Katsuki, two guards had beaten me to it. They stood in front of me now, towering above me. The first one pushed me to the ground while the other laughed. "Now tell me, where is the prince." The first one said. "He rode away." I replied, staring down at the hay covered ground. Either way I was going to get yelled at. Either way, I was useless.

"You're supposed to be his servant. You're supposed to follow his orders. But that doesn't mean you should let him do what he wants any time if the day. He's supposed to be in the-" but I had enough. I couldn't handle their yelling anymore. "You think I don't fucking know that. I know where he is supposed to go. I know I was supposed to get him there. But I couldn't even do that. You've made the mistake of keeping me alive. I should have been dead like my parents." I could tell they weren't expecting me to snap like I did. But I also wasn't prepared for what they were going to do. With this simple kick of his foot, he knocked me out cold.

Ten minutes later, Katsuki's p.o.v

Was I too harsh on him back there? I thought, pulling an apple down from the tree branch I was reaching towards. We had a little garden with mostly grown fruits and near the back they're were trees. I liked going out here because it wasn't far from the castle and even quicker by horseback. Feeding the horse on of the apples, I started eating one myself, sitting under the shade of the tree. I felt really bad about the way I left. Whatever, he'll be okay. I'll go back and he'll be waiting there for me and he won't get in trouble. Or maybe he'll ride here and find me. Yeah, he'll proabbky show up. I continued to eat in peace, leaning against the trunk of the tree when two guards came up to me. "You should have been back ten minutes ago. We'll be taking you back. Get on your horse and follow us." They both commanded. I complied, knowing I should probably be back by now even if I wanted to stay here forever. "Where's Eijirou?" I asked, still pacing behind them. "Oh, he's in the stables." They answered. I just nodded to myself, following them.

Once we made it to the stables, I jumped off my horse, running over to the lump of a human on the floor. Ei. "What did you do to him?" I yelled at them. They didnt seem to care and only smiled. "He's just your servant. Hes not important to you. Now go to the fitting room. The king is waiting for you." They laughed to themselves. Without a word, I picked him up and slung him over my shoulder. I walked inside, bringing him to the infirmary. "Please, take care fo him. The guards knocked him out. When he's fit to come back, send him to the fitting room." I smiled. "It's an order. Take care of him or I will hav a word with my father." She nodded as I sat him on one of the cots in the room. "Don't send him back until he is better." And with that, I left the room to go see my father. This was going to be wonderful.

A few hours later, Eijirou's p.o.v

I woke up with a groan, the feeling of drowsiness running through me. I sat up, clutching my head. "Ah, you're up. You got a pretty hard kick to the head. You're going to have headaches for a while so I reccomend taking slower steps, don't move too fast and try not to stress yourself. By tomorrow morning, you should be a lot better but you might be sore." I nodded, removing the wet rag from my head and fixing my hair. "The prince asked that you be in the fitting room once you felt better. Is it okay that you go or do you need a bit longer?" She asked me. This was the most care someone has shown me since I got here other than Kats and Yagi. "I'll be good to go back. Thank you." I smiled, getting up out of bed. I opened the door and made my way out to the fitting room. Inside, the princess of Oryn and Katsuki stood there, elegant outfits made for their special day. They both looked magical and I couldn't help but look in awe. The taylor and seamstress did a wonderful job. While I looked at the two who hadn't noticed I was there, I couldn't help but let a wave of sadness engulf me. Just a reminder that who I was, was looked down upon by everyone else. How the only person I had found who was like me was being torn away from my grasp. To be converted to something and someone he was not. They were the reminder of

what we could never be.
