Eijirou's p.o.v
"Alright so first put your feet in the stirrups and then hold onto the reins like this." He said demonstrating on his own horse and I did as he showed me. "Like this?" I asked, doing what he showed me. "Yeah, you're a natural already!" He said smiling enthusiastically and I said; "Thanks! You're a good teacher, how long have you been riding for?" I asked happily. "All my life really. I like to go for rides when castle life starts getting to me, I'm always having to study or my parents are lecturing me about needing to find a wife or how to be a good king." I looked at him, turning his head to the side in confusion. "Wow I kind of thought being a Prince would be easier than that and you would just sit around doing whatever you liked and having feasts and then becoming king at the right age." I mumbled. "I wish! I would love not having expectations or people telling me what to do all day. Don't tell anyone this but I don't even want to be king at all." Now I was really confused. "What? Why not you would be ruler of the whole kingdom." He sighed a little. "The way I see it; Yes I would be a ruler but a prisoner of it too. I would loose every ounce of my freedom." I looked away. "I know what that feels like, I lost all of mine." I said sadly and there was awkward silence for a few moments, as we continued to ride through the forest, before he spoke.
"I'm sorry Eijirou. None of this should have happened to you. You don't deserve any of this." I smiled a little. "No one else seems to think so. You're so kind Just Kats." We both laughed at the nickname I refuse to let go of just yet. "So Ei, if you don't mind me asking what was your life like before.. you know?" I looked at him shocked. "You actually care to know about someone as pathetic as me, why?" We were riding slower, turning corners and occasionally looking at the scenery. "You're not pathetic Eijirou. You're a really great person and you're really good- um nice.. uh yeah...nice, so tell me about yourself." I'm really good what? I don't know what he was going to say or why he stuttered but I ignore it and decide to tell him a bit about me.
Katsuki's p.o.v
"Thanks you're nice too. Well okay I'll tell you a bit about me. My adoptive parents told me the story of when they found me. One day they were taking a walk down by the river to do some fishing when they found a small wooden boat drifting down the river. It had come down the river from the ocean which was about an hour from where they found the boat. They found me inside that boat as a baby and there was no clues about how I got there or anything at all." He looked at me with a confused glance as we rounded another corner. We just rode and talked. It was calming for the both if us. "Your story is so interesting and mysterious. I was literally just born at the castle and that's about it. You said you had adoptive parents, where are they now?"
My question seemed to trigger him and he was suddenly sad again, not what I had intended. "Well um they're..." I saw tears start to well in his eyes so I halted both of our horses side by side and rubbed his back comfortingly. "You don't have to tell me if you don't want to." He looked up at me wiping his eyes. "No I want to, my adoptive parents are dead." He said with tears rolling down his face and I felt so bad for him. "I'm so sorry Ei, do you want to tell me how?" He smiled gently. "Their names, they were called Cara and Mayea." Cara and Mayea? Those are both female names? What does that have to do with.. oh.."They were gay and executed this morning just like I was going to be. The only reason the king decided not to kill me was because I am so young and he said my parents must have corrupted me and i'm obviously not really gay whereas I know for sure that I am." He looked upset at the memory of this morning and what my father had done.
"Oh my gosh Eijirou, this is horrible I'm sorry. My father is such a horrible man, I hate him! How old actually are you Eijirou?" He thought for a moment. "Fourteen, what about you?" I smiled. "Haha I'm older than you, I just turned fifteen in April, you look older than me." "Must be because I'm taller, you're quite short haha. Cara and Mayea told me I must have been born sometime in October by how old I looked when they found me but I don't know what day." I thought fir a moment. "Well I'm April the 16th so let's just say your birthday is October the 16th!" He smiled wise at me and started back up on the trail. We were circling around now. "Wow I've never had a birthday before!" He said excitedly. "Didn't you even celebrate at all sometime in October?" He frowned a little. "No, I was always too busy working and it never really mattered to me , not that there was much I could do to celebrate anyways." I frowned a little myself. "That's sad, I'll make sure to celebrate your first birthday with you this year! For my birthdays my parents always made a really big deal about it and hosted huge balls and stuff. It was really stupid and I would have rather been out riding instead." "A ball sounds fun but okay, I look forward to celebrating mine!"We finally reached the stables back at the castle. "I had fun riding with you Prince Katsuki." He smiled, hopping off this horse. "I'll take them back to the stables." Ibhopped down without a protest as he grabbed the reins of our horses leading them to the stables. Watching him walk away, I was about to enter the castle when Yagi came out to greet me. "THE WHOLE KINDGOM HAS BEEN WONDERING WHERE YOU WERE! Where have you been?" He asked worried. "I've been out horse riding. It wasn't even that long." I rolled my eyes. "The King wants to have a word with you. About two things actually. He requested you go to his office. In private." I suddenly felt a pit in my stomach and I nodded silently. As I made my way inside, I felt worse with each step, anticipating what he wanted to tell me. Gripping the doors to his office, I pulled them open slowly and stood in front of him. "I'm here." I mumbled, looking down at my feet. "Where were you today? There was two hours of your time wasted. I want to know what you were doing." I squinted my eyes closed waiting for him to yell at me. "I was out...horse riding." I mumbled, hands clenched in a fist. "And you could have done so much more in that time. Like finding a suitable wife. All that time wasted. You can't do that when you're king you know." I gritted my teeth in frustration. "Well, maybe I don't want to be king. MAYBE I DON'T WANNA GET MARRIED!" I screamed in anger. He wasn't prepared for my outburst: he looked shocked. "You've held this off for too long, and I can't take anymore of it. You have until the end of-" he was cut off by the slamming of doors behind me. Two guards came in grabbing Ei by each of his arms. "Why is that in my office?" He asked, gesturing towards Eijirou. "His name is Eijirou." I mumbled angrily. "He was found messing with the horses." The gaurds started. I could tell my father was about to erupt with anger so I spoke before he could. "You told him he should tend to the horses. He was tending to the horses we went for a ride with. I'm positive he wouldn't have messed with them. He's more kind then both if you combined. Now, leave him with me or I wont hesitate to fire both of you. And you know I have the power to." I smiled bitterly in their direction. They let Ei go, dropping him to the ground and letting him lay in the floor.
I walked over to him, picking him up and letting him lay across my shoulder using my body as a crutch. "You went out riding with that. Katsuki, he is a prisoner. A member if the staff not your friend." He looked for a second, thinking before an idea popped in his head. "Actually, this might be a good thing. Maybe having him around you will get him out of his homosexual lifestyle. From now on, he will be your personal butler. Yagi will help around with you as well as him. But only for a while until he shows improvement." I smiled a little knowing he would always be close by even if the reasoning was completly insane. "Oh and about what I was saying earlier." I looked up at him as his mood became more serious. "I'm tired of you pushing off the duties of becoming King." I sighed. "I'm only fifteen, not nearly old enough right?" I asked, hoping for a good answer. "Just the right age. I'll be hosting a ball by the end of this week and you will choose then. I expect a marriage by the next day." I almost broke out into tears. How could he do this? Wasn't I too young. I wasnt ready for this.
"You have one week and soon you will be King."
