".....you're such as liar! How can you call yourself a friend!???"

Xoina could not stop thinking about what had transpired just a couple of months ago and now it was over a year since that night. In Sarai's mind, Xoina had done the unthinkable and although she was with the love of her life, Chad. Sarai was not ready to let her back into her life. She was polite when they saw each other but they never actually spoke to each other. This was hard for Xiona because Sarai was her person and never in her life could she have predicted this turn of events. Chad her boyfriend and hopeful husband but he is best friends now her ex-best friend- things have really changed.

Xoina felt like everything else was going wrong and had gone wrong.

She wondered into the night why her relationship with Chad was also changing.  They were fighting so often these days. It like everything that Chad did, totally annoyed her. What was worse, was that Jubala was not helping the situation. He had become overly zealous with his preparations for her to leave Chad and be in a relationship with him. Due to the awkwardness in her relationship, she tried meeting up with Jubala just once per week.  She tried everything to avoid seeing him physically or mentally.

In just a short span of time, Xoina had gained some enemies at work due to the amount of overtime she was putting in and how excellently, she had just acquired two huge rental contracts with a telecommunications company that was making billions on her island home. She had made a promise to herself that she wanted to save as much of her income as possible, to buy a car for herself and make a shift into Mass Communication -her dream job. She was also trying her best to ignore the smiles and romantic gestures from Jubala.

Today was no exception.

Oh my gosh, why won't this headache stop? I already took three tablets and it still persists. I am beginning to feel so light-headed. It might have been that double cheese sandwich biscuit, I had this morning.

"Ummm ...Mrs. Walton, our junior manager would like to have a word with you about the financial report you submitted yesterday," chimed a thin classy fitted woman in red spectacles.  " I tried contacting you via line 2 but your extension had been beeping busy so I thought to deliver his message personally."  she hissed softly.

" Thank you. You are too kind. Anything else?" Xoina flatlined.

" No...well it's...I just ..think it's quite urgent ...based on how frequently he has called requesting to have you connected ." she spat insistently while tapping her nails impatiently on the door frame.

" Well Noted, Ms. Franklin," Xoina answered curtly.  " So glad to have such a passionate operator on board with us. The last one didn't  do so well after the probationary period expired, but I am happy you're so proficient" she added quickly

" Very well, Ms Walton. I was only trying to communicate the urgency of the matter." She turned abruptly before Xoina could hide her annoyance.

I can just bet that when I do get to his office it will not be some question or request unrelated to work at the office. This is getting really overbearing. Why can't he get it I am with Chad and I won't leave him to be with some bored rich kid.

Xoina decided to pause at the door and do some breathing exercises before entering the room. She tapped the door three times.

"Come in," Jubala answered monotonously with his eyes glued to the laptop screen.

"You sent for me, Sir?" Xoina responded crisply.
