(Kano preforms a medical operation to save Kabal's life. Shang Tsung, Quan Chi, and Tremor provided supplies)
(Kabal starts breathing)
Kano: Easy there mate, you had a rough one
Kabal: Kano?
Kano: In the flesh
Kabal: I was... on fire
Kano: Burned to a crisp, you were. Good thing I found ya
Kabal: I'm hideous
Kano: Shang Tsung's magic healed the rest of you. But your lungs? Yeesh
(Kabal points to his mask)
Kabal: Take it off
Kano: Can't. It's permanent
Kabal: What?
Kano: No mask, no breathing
Kabal: I'm a freak
(Kano takes some hook swords out of a crate)
Kano: Go on, give em a whirl
Kabal: I don't use those anymore
Kano: Yeah, you're all proper police now. The black dragon just ain't the same without ya mate. You should come back. We're in the money on this war
Kabal: You sold those monsters their firepower
Kano: Guilty as charged
Kabal: This is YOUR fault!
Kano: What are you on about eh? You're here ain't ya?
Kabal: I should be dead! Now you're gonna be!
(Kabal fights Kano, and his super speed really packs a punch, letting take down Kano easily)
Kabal: Now how do I get outta here?
Kano: Not so keen on being dead now, are ya?
Kabal: I said how do I get outta here?!
(Kabal puts a hook sword to Kano's neck)
Kano: Heh. Good luck. No one gets outta out world without Shao Khan's say so
Kabal: Out world? Shao Khan?
Kano: Shao Khan's the big boss around here. And soon, earth's new master
Kabal: Where is he?
Kano: Don't bother, you can't get near him
Kabal: No, but I'm guessing you can
(Meanwhile)
(Mileena comes back with some tarkatans and cyber Lin Kuei carrying a centaur's body)
Shao Khan: What is this?
Mileena: Raiden has killed Motaro
(Kano walks in, with Kabal holding a knife to his back)
Kabal: That's him? On the throne?
Kano: You're a right genius, you are
Sindel: It's no great matter. I will go to earth realm to finish Motaro's work
Shao Khan: Yes. Shang Tsung
Shang Tsung: Yes emperor?
Shao Khan: The empress requires something of you
Shang Tsung: What is it?
(Shao Khan uses his magic to kill Shang Tsung, and transfer his magic to Sindel)
Kano: See there? I'm thinking he's a bit much for you-Unh!
(Kabal knocks Kano out from behind)
Kabal: I can take him
(Kabal begins to walk towards Shao Khan, but Noob Saibot and Mileena get in front of him)
Mileena: No one attacks the emperor!
(Kabal fights Mileena and Noob Saibot at the same time. Kabal's super speed lets him keep up with Noob Saibot and his shadow clones. Mileena wasn't much of an issue)
Kabal: And I thought that I was a freak
(Tarkatans and cyber Lin Kuei surround Kabal)
Shao Khan: Quan Chi! Seal the portal!
Kabal: Time to go
(Kabal uses his super speed to run through the portal before it closes)
Kabal: This speed is incredible! Guess it must be a side effect of out world's magic
(A cyberized version of Sub Zero appears behind Kabal)
Sub Zero: You are not authorized for portal use
Kabal: Yeah? Says who?
Sub Zero: Sub Zero. Until L-K-5-2-0
Kabal: Heh. You say that like it means something
Sub Zero: As you will soon discover
(Kabal fights Cyber Sub Zero. Kabal isn't able to take him down conventionally, so he looks for weaknesses and starts delivering hits to his power core, which leads to Cyber Sub Zero powering down)
Kabal: Ha! Not as cool as you thought
Sheeva: Why do you turn on your brother,
Lin Kuei?
Kabal: That thing is not my brother. He's a machine, I'm a human
Sheeva: You do not appear human
Kabal: Don't let the mask fool ya
(Kabal fights Sheeva. Her brute strength is no match for Kabal's speed and hook swords)
Kabal: Starting to feel like the old days, only faster
(Smoke and Raiden appear behind Kabal)
Smoke: Sub Zero!
(Smoke runs over to Cyber Sub Zero)
Raiden: You have great power indeed, Kabal
Kabal: Wait, you're the lightning guy, you helped Stryker
(Kabals gasps)
Kabal: Stryker! Is he-
Raiden: He is safe, he has joined us in the fight against Shao Khan. We would welcome your aid also
Smoke: No! Sub Zero!
Raiden: That which made him Sub Zero no longer exists
Smoke: He is my friend, what they did to him. It is... hideous
(Smoke shakes his head)
Kabal: You're right, we've gotta help him if we can
(Kabal and Smoke pick up Cyber Sub Zero, then Raiden teleports the 4 back to the rest of the group)
(Later)
Jax: That's it, here goes nothing
Smoke: Are you certain that this will work?
Jax: Nope. I've never done this before. It's not like there's an instruction manual for it
Smoke: Sub Zero? Can you hear me?
Jax: He should
Smoke: Sub Zero?
Sub Zero: Yes Smoke?
