I was unpacking from a week long trip in the Bahamas with my family when my best friend in the whole world Della MarQue came running into my room. I spun and caught a huge hug from her as we tumbled onto my bed. Laughing she rolled onto her side.

"God I missed ya so much Addy. So much has happened while ya were gone." She said between heavy breaths. Della had just picked up the habit of smoking before I left and you could already tell.

"Del, if I coulda stayed home I woulda. It was beautiful, but next year your comin' with me. You have no idea. I wish Millie had been there. I woulda had more fun. Harper is just such a drag you know? She's so serious. I wish It'd been her off to school instead."

I felt bad talking badly about Harper. I loved my sister. I really did. She was just so serious and stuffy. She was going to school to be a lawyer and was constantly on some lecture about the law. Personally I doubted she would ever use her education. Harper wanted to marry a man who would be the head of the state or even the country. Harper wanted to be the woman behind the man.

"Sooooooo much has happened Addy. Are you comin' out with us tonight? Scarlett and Shelby were out by the beach the day you left and met some guys. They've been hangin' with us all week. You have to meet them! You'll love them!" She smiled extra big and squeezed her eyes shut. This is the kind of thing Della did when she was begging or wanted her way.

"Do you really think I'm not comin'? I missed so much already!" I smiled as I watched her eyes pop open and she let out all her breath.

"Addy you HAVE to talk to this guy for me. Or at least see if hes into me. I think I'm in love. His name is Landon and my God is he gorgeous."

"Okay, okay, two things. You know Jackson is going to be heart broken right? And is there someone for me or what?"

"Ugh! Addy, stop teasin' me. Jackson hasn't even looked at me EVER and yes. Be careful though. Scarlett and Shelby have been fightin' over one of his friends."

"You know my brother secretly adores you and your in love with him too; But, those two, seriously? They always want the same things. Thank god your my best friend and we don't ever want the same things."

"Except clothes, makeup, cars, boys.."

"Oh you know what I mean. Now tell me about these friends of his..."

While I finished unpacking Della broke into an hour long detailed summery of Landon's life, friends, and anything else she could think of. By the time she was done telling me about the past week and him I was half in love with him too. I figured the least I could do was help her out with him. Della deserved a summer hottie turned boyfriend. While I got dressed and did my make up I made a promise to myself that this summer would be Della's turn. I'd do everything to make this guy fall in love with her.

After I finished getting ready Della and I convinced my brother Jackson to give us a ride across town to the beach. It would take about fifteen minutes tops to get to Bluff beach which was considered to be a part of Mobile bay. Della told me the boys would be coming from Montrose, which is the next town over from Daphne. A little bit poorer of a town, not that I cared, but close enough for them to meet us there in twenty minutes. I could tell as we walked out and got into my brother's car that he was jealous. Della couldn't see it, but my brother adored her. She chased him for years and had just given up. Jackson was just too shy to try, which was sad. I let Della have the front seat and she glared at me. I just smiled. Jackson had just turned sixteen and had just gotten the mustang we were currently sitting in. I didn't think it would hurt to let Della sit in the front and have my brother feel a little better by showing off his new car. As Jackson slid into the front seat I saw the look on his face when he saw Della up front. He started to blush.
