The last day of school couldn't come fast enough. It seemed like this school year had dragged forever. All the galas and events in December had drained me but still left me open to think about Landon. The whole month of April filled with charities didn't even keep me busy enough to forget either. Finally though, it was here. The last day of school, which fell on my birthday this year. The only thing that kept me and Landon together in a sense was texting. We had texted all school year and we talked on the phone every so often. Not as much as I'd like because my mom, for some reason, would always show up whenever I tried to talk to him. Texting literally kept our love alive. Thank God after today I'd get three months of freedom to see Landon. The summer brought a vacation of sorts for my family and events that were usually held at my house. Which in turn meant Landon could come or I could leave to see him when the party died down if I was forced to attend.

I kept checking my phone the whole last hour until the bell rang. As soon as the bell rang my phone dinged indicating a text. Of course it was from Landon. "Free at last". I smiled and sent back a kiss face. Rushing out the door I slammed into Della. We both almost fell and started laughing.

"Let's go see what kind of car Honey and Dash got you."

I barely cared about the car. Having my license meant easier access to Landon, yes, but what really mattered was spending my birthday with him. He had called me at midnight and sang to me. He had promised to make tonight memorable. My insides turned to jelly thinking about it. As me and Della rushed out of the doors to Jackson's car she ran off in front of me and into my brother's arms. It made me so happy to see them finally get together.

"So Belle, how does it feel to be sixteen?"

"Sad."

Jackson studied my face.

"Why?"

"Cuz now you don't have to give me rides anymore."

"You can make up for it and give me rides, how bout it?"

He held the door open for me and I climbed into the back seat.

"I suppose it's only fair."

I watched Jackson fold the seat and help Della into the car. I was so jealous that they got to have their relationship all year round. Happy for them, deliriously happy for them, but still jealous. I wished I could have Landon by my side all the time. As Jackson started up the car and headed to the house I started to feel nervous. I hadn't seen Landon in ten long months. This is the first time I ever had doubts. What if he didn't want me? What if he had found someone new but didn't know how to tell me? Della must have realized I was having negative thoughts because she spun around and flicked me.

"What?"

"We were talking to you, didn't you hear us?"

"Sorry, what did you say?"

Della looked at Jackson.

"Belle, whats wrong?"

"Nothing. I was just thinking."

"About?"

"Jacks, it's okay. Today is a great day. Now what did you guys say?"

"We were talking about your car."

"Oh, I don't know what they got me. I'm sure it'll be amazing."

It was Della's turn to question.

"Okay Addy, Jackson talked about his stang for like two years before he got it. There is something seriously wrong with you if your not going to tell us your hoping there's a Cadillac sitting in your driveway when we get there."
