I watched Della storm off and was temporarily paralyzed. I was the worst friend ever. Landon may have said he knew she loved my brother and wasn't interested but I had yet to explain that to Della. I stood up and brushed the sand of myself.

"I'll go after her if you want. I'll explain to her what she saw.."

"No. I'll go talk to her. Thank you though."

I watched Landon sit back down and stare at the fire.  I grabbed the blanket. He grabbed my wrist.

"I don't feel guilty."

I didn't know what to say so I nodded and slipped out of his grasp and went after Della. I started to notice how hazy I was as I trudged through the sand. I walked a pretty good distance before I got tired and sat down to rest for a minute.

"I'm too drunk for this."

I spun around and saw Della sitting above me on a little hill of sand. I crawled up and sat next to her. She leaned into me and wrapped her arms around me. I was confused but I felt relief as I wrapped myself around her.

"I'm sorry Della."

"Addy. Don't be sorry. I'm sorry. I'm so stupid."

"Why? I'm the on who heard you talking all afternoon about him and then we get here and I managed to ruin it for you."

"It wouldn't have happened once you came home anyways. Don't feel guilty."

"Not you too. I heard all afternoon Shelby and Scarlett talking about how I'm perfect and I'm going to ruin their summer by stealing the guys, I can't handle you saying it too. Your beautiful Della. Your perfect. I don't compare to you. Please know that it isn't like that."

"Addison. Your wrong. That isn't why at all. Even though we know your the belle out of us."

I decided to ignore her second statement.

"Why then?"

"Promise you won't be mad?"

"Della, after what I did I can't be mad at you for anything."

She sat up and grabbed my hands.

"It would have happened once you came home."

   She squeezed.

"Okay.. why?"

I saw tears start to tickle down her face and I put my hand up to wipe them. She caught my hand.

"Jackson."

There it was.

"Aw D, I knew you loved him."

"Before you guys left I was heading home and he caught me outside and kissed me. I was so shocked I thought maybe he'd been drunk. Then he started texting me all summer from vacation and I didn't know what to think. It was.. unreal. Like a dream come true. I thought once you guys came home it would all end and go back to normal. For him at least. For me I would never forget. All summer he told me the things I'd wanted to hear from him my entire life. It was so awkward getting into his car. He didn't even talk to me. He didn't even say hi. Then when we got here he asked to talk to me. He asked me to be his girl and after I told you all about Landon I had to find a way to talk to you about this so I told him I'd think on it. He kissed me before he left and told me he'd wait forever if he had to."

"Della, I saw Jackson kiss you."

She shoved me.

"Why didn't you say anything?"
