To Hate Your Reflection

I hate you

With every fiber of my being

I cannot stand to see you

As you stand before me

This mirror, this evil

Reflecting my pain

My inevitable reality

Of what I have become

Instead of searching for redemption

I eat, I fail

Making myself worse

Turning myself into the beast

And as the stomach grows bigger

The air becomes thinner

As I wake up every morning

To see the body of which I hate

Hating to eat,

Yet eating the hate,

The will fights the urge

But the urge always wins

My mask is becoming dirty

Holes starting to form

Soon it will not be able,

To hide my bitter depression

In a world so dark

People are so quick to judge

To sort you into a class

Of man made popularity

But as I walk through life

Carrying this sorrow in pounds

I feel myself dying

A little more each day
