Amelia lunges at me, claws bared, teeth laced in a snarl. She latches onto me, sinking one hand of claws into my shoulder.
I hiss in pain and shove her into the wall. She growls and thrashes at me, getting my cheek, making blood trickle out and float around in the water. I manage to push her off me, blood pooling around in the room. I turn to my back to see blood leaking from my shoulder.
But, at that second, she lunges at me, pulling my hair, punching me.
I scream and use my own claws to dig into her sides. She screams and loosens just enough for me to push her off.
We both stare at each other, growling and scowling.
"You will be the death of him" she rasps.
I growl.
"I did you a favour. I will not break his heart" I spit.
She laughs, her body suddenly shuddering violently.
"No. You won't survive the night. If you die, if you do anything wrong, he will be broken beyond repair."
"That won't happen."
"YOU CANT GUARANTEE THAT!" she roars, shuddering even more violently.
Then, she starts to transform.
She hunched forward, her spine starting to stick up under her skin. Her cheek bones push out and dark scales start to appear on her skin. Her spine breaks free from her skin and webbed spins push through. Her tail grows long and her head turns and shifts.
She grows and grows until her head is nearly as big as me.
I stare into the eyes of a sea serpent.
It takes one whiff of the blood and it's pupils literally turn to slits.
Crap.
I dash out the door, almost running into the wall.
Amelia is not far behind.
Going turbo, I slither through the halls, making my way out of this maze of doors and halls. A crush sound behind me and Amelia bursts through one of the walls.
I zip past the lady at the desk and she stares in horror at the beast that is following me.
I swim through the double doors and to the halls of the school.
People's eyes widen in horror as I fly past, a huge, hungry sea serpent behind me.
Faster. Go damn faster!
I swim around the corner, running into some merfolk with octopus tentacles.
"Sorry" I mutter to them as I head back on course.
I hear a growl behind me and I jerk my tail to the side just in time as the serpent snaps, narrowly missing me.
To close....
I take another corner and run into the lockers, cutting my arm on he edge.
Blood trickles behind me and a deafening roar sounds, and something latches onto my tail.
Something thin, sharp, and painful.
Teeth.
Amelia wrenches me back and I scream as the pain follows. Fire burns in my tail, running up to my arms and head. I scream as Amelia pushes down harder, some distraught pupils see me being bitten by a serpent.
I try to pull out if it's grip but it drags it's teeth along, making me scream even louder.
Then, something smacks into Amelia, making her roar and letting me go.
I dart away, not far since my tail is screaming in protest.
Blood runs from my tail, floating around in the water.
My vision goes blurry and I look up to see someone I would not think to see.
Gavin, underwater.
He punches Amelia, making her smack into the wall, a colossal boom sounding.
My eyes start to close but I force them open.
"Don't...hurt her Gavin" I strain to say.
I'm not sure he even heard me.
Amelia lunges at Gavin, but he doges at the last second, making Amelia crash head first into the wall.
She spins around, roaring at Gavin, and lunges at him.
He holds out his fire arm out to Amelia and he quickly side steps and smashes her face into the wall, holding it down. His hand turns red and Amelia is struggling against his push.
Gavin keeps her planted there though.
Then, the serpents eyes shut and it slowly changes back to Amelia where she collapses.
People are gathering around, whispering and staring at Gavin, who has a tail--
Wait what?
Gavin has a red tail...but...
He swims over to me, his hands dancing over my wounds, his face pained.
"Oh Vi, I knew you shouldn't of gone" he whispers to himself.
"I...had to...--"
"Shh...it's okay, don't speak, just stay calm okay?" He softly picks me up and swiftly swims down the hall, blood trailing behind us.
"You have...a tail?" I ask, groggily.
He laughs.
"No, this was Jaspers, remember?"
Oh right.
"And I returned Scars tail for you, I figured I would need this. Apparently Merfolk don't like outsiders in their waters" he says, and I can see his eyes are still pained.
The fire in my veins is only stinging now but my cuts are crying out in pain.
"But....you can't...breathe...--"
"Oh. That. Well, you see, I can breathe underwater--"
"How?" I butt in.
He raises an eyebrow and looks at me.
"Let me finish. Apparently all angels can, it's because...actually, I don't know why, but I can" he smiles, but his face quickly darkens. "Why was she trying to kill you?" he spits.
Uh....
"I don't know. I told her...that he would return after I has chosen my mate and she....spazzed. Tried to kill me," I say, my voice croaky.
A warm tear runs down my face and Gavin wipes it away.
My blood tear.
"About that..." he trails off but Sharkin sees me and rushes to me, Gavin going stiff under me.
"Oh my god..." he whispers. "She has Serpent venom in her."
Gavin freezes.
"No" he says, barley a whisper.
"What?"
I have no clue what's going on here.
"Gavin, you need to suck the blood out of her, well, some of the blood" Sharkin rushes.
A small smirk appears on Gavin's lips, but it quickly disappears.
What was that for?
Gavin sits me on the floor and finds a hole in my clothes from the serpent teeth.
"Why can't you do this?" I ask Sharkin.
"I'm a Mer, only someone with healing qualities can do it."
What....?
"Angels have healing qualities in their saliva" says Gavin, curing my confusion.
Suddenly, he bites my tail and sucks. Sharkin has his hand on my shoulder, slightly rubbing it.
The burning fire disappears but a icy burn follows, making me scream.
"Settle" says Sharkin, soothing me. "Healing from serpent bites hurts....." he trails off.
What aren't you telling me?
I bite my tongue, refusing to scream.
'Fate?!? Are you okay?!?' sounds Jaspers voice from my head.
He's not my mate anymore, how can he still talk to me?
Wait, it's the bracelets.
'yyyyyyeeeeeeaaaaaahhhhh?'
'Fate.....'
'Im fine okay? Just something happened.'
'...What happened?'
'Er, snake bite?'
'Fate...'
'Okay, a really, really big snake bite.'
Silence.
'Is anyone with you?' he asks.
'Yes, I'll see you soon okay?'
'Fine. Love you.'
I don't reply.
A suddenly electric bolt runs through me and I grit my teeth.
What was that?!?
Gavin pulls away from me, his mouth soaked with my blood.
A sudden warmth rushes through me and I see it run through Gavin.
He opens his eyes and he smiles at me, almost looking demonic because of the blood around his mouth.
"Blood...."
He quickly wipes the blood from his mouth, some of it floating away in the water, and he gives a sheepish grin, and I can't help but smile.
Sharkin helps me up and my tail is sore, but it's pain that is bearable.
"OH MY GOD! FATE!"
I turn around to see Finley, rushing towards me, seeing the blood floating around me and my torn tail.
He looks like he's going to pass out.
He grabs me from Sharkins grip, cautiously, and gives me a soft hug.
"What happened?" he softly asks in my ear.
I sink into his chest, before a squeezing feeling erupts in my chest and I push Finley away, actually making him hit the lockers.
I look to Gavin and a bright light erupts in between us and we are thrown back, screaming.
This is like...like...
Oh no.
When the pain subsides, I quickly get up, every joint in my body protesting.
Gavin and I lock glances and his eyes flicker blue.
Finley looks at me, his face pained, his jaw tight.
'That was like...' he drifts off.
'Its not that.' I rush. 'I don't know what that was, don't worry about it.'
My arms start to sting and I look down to see red veins, glimmering under my skin.
Crap.
Not looking at the three boys standing there, I rush out the door of the school, not stopping.
I block any thoughts from them and I shoot out if the water like a dolphin, my legs and pants changing back to normal by the time I land.
I quickly grab my katanas, sheathe them then run off, as fast as I can.
My heart drumming against my chest, my legs thumping the ground, even though they are still screaming at me.
I know this feeling, and it's not good.
It's never good.
I just make it to the forest when my arms starts blazing blood red fire.
It swirls around me rising, growing larger, consuming me.
It burns everything in it's path, sending smoke into the air.
"Fate" says Destiny's voice, just over a whisper.
I turn to her, standing next to me in this vortex of fire.
"What" I spit at her.
"I'm sorry I don't tell you, I...I didn't know...I--"
"Tell me what?" I growl.
She sighs and slumps on the ground, she peers up at me and I stare down at her, knowing my eyes are blazing red.
"Remember what I told you about sealing the bind with a mate with blood?"
"Yes."
"Well, you don't have to do it at the same time..."
"What?" I am so confused.
"Remember wen Gavin was leaving, and he turned to kiss you, cutting his lip on your braces?"
I do. I remember the little spark I felt as I tasted his thick, warm blood.
I shudder.
"Yes."
"Well--"
Something hits me and I scream in rage as a bullet sinks through my shoulder.
I turn to the attacker to see a guy, probably in his twenties, a rifle pointed at me, his eyes ones of a lion and his hair comes around him like a mane.
Not now.
I roar and the fires soar up into the sky, then back down at the guy, the blood red fire taking the form of a lions head as it engulfs the boy and he screams.
I watch as he is burnt to death, smirking the whole time.
Take that.
"VIOLET!" calls a voice.
Gavin.
Hearing that name sends a chill through me and the fire dies down and I turn to see him, standing there with a small smile on his lips.
What's wrong with me? I have always loved Gavin even if he was just a friend. Why did I choose Finley?
"NO!" roars a voice and I turn to see that lady with dark purple eyes and straight black hair floating near Gavin.
She grabs his throat and he tries to pry her fingers away but she's too strong.
"AMELIA WAS SUPPOSED TO KILL YOU! SHE WAS SUPPOSED TO MAKE YOU EVIL! THIS...IDIOT IS GETTING IN THE WAY!" she roars, her grip tightening.
Gavin struggles to breath and something in me snaps. Something vicious.
Don't touch him witch.
I roar and I am engulfed in blood red flames, they lick around me then shoot out of my palms, right at the Powerist.
She is not expecting it and she drops Gavin.
My left hand uses fire to trap the Powerist in a blood red, fire sphere whilst the other grabs Gavin and pulls away from him, my flames not hurting him, and gently setting him down and then retreating the flames from that hand.
I start to close my open hand, making the sphere grow smaller, the Powerist screaming at me.
"Fate, that is enough" says Destiny's voice next to me. "Fate Delestra Bloodstone, don't you dare kill her, it will make her spirit rise, something deadlier than flesh."
Fate Delestra Bloodstone?
My name?
I growl, and wave my hand away from the Powerist, the flame sphere disappearing.
She turns to me, her fangs glinting in the setting sun.
Crap, it's getting late.
"Your heart is precious, so breakable, so breakable in fact, when the holder shatters, it will shatter too" she smirks, her eyes blazing.
I growl at her, my hands start to blaze fire and she disappears, her evil still radiating in the air.
I let the flames disappear and my legs start to throb and sting, but gritting my teeth, I ignore it and rush to the unconscious Gavin.
"Gavin?" I say, laying his head in my lap, stoking his hair.
He looks at me and a small smile crosses his lips and he wipes the hair from my face.
"Your eyes are spectacular" he murmurs.
I wince.
They aren't really violet.
"They always have been violet--"
"No" he says, interrupting. "They are a beautiful blood red, matches me in half."
I would of screamed in terror but the way he said that makes me melt.
But I sealed the bind with Fin?
Why am I still attracted to Gav?
"Vi--"
"My name is Fate, I'm not me anymore" I whisper.
"No, you're still the Vi I fell in love with, still the one I'm falling in love with."
Crap.
"Violet, I don't want to make anything harder for you, but I need you, I need you so much, no words can describe how much. Since we ran into each other, all those years ago, I'm pretty sure that was three or four years ago."
"Gav--"
"And when I left, it nearly killed me. I let you slip. I let you fall for a guy who isn't even a mate. I'm sorry, I'm sorry I left you. I tried to look more presentable, to look better for you. I really did."
"Gav--"
"And when you admitted your love to me, I was so happy. I was going to sing to the heavens. But then you ran off and when you returned with Jasper, I was mad...when you were with any mate, and not with me."
"Gavin...--"
"And trust me when I say this. I never, ever say the word love. I think it is thrown around to much, so it's lost it's meaning, so I'm sorry that I never used it. But here it is."
He stands up, pulling me up with him. He grabs my waist and pulls me into him.
He leans down, our lips centimetres apart.
"Gavin.." I say, just lower than a whisper.
"I love you."
He then presses his lips to mine, his lips soft. But not needy.
I kiss him back. A spark runs through us when we kiss, a weird feeling.
He softly let's go and peers into my eyes.
"I don't care what happens to you, what you become. I had nothing to lose with you, except you" he presses his lips to mine again.
The energy that runs through me is a sensation, is something I want more of.
Like with Finley.
I pull away and peer into his eyes. One blue one, the other red. Blonde hair and slightly tan skin, well built, muscular with a black, tribal tattoo that is wrapped around, down his right arm, the red side.
"Gavinerld Lucius Falls, I love you. And I don't throw the word around neither, but I still love Jasper and Finley, I can't help it. It just...it's weird. Before them, I thought we were forever...then the flaming arrow happened. Then I met Jasper, he saved me. Then Finley, the poetic gentleman. And then Gavin, the one who has stuck by me for life..." I trail off.
He lifts my chin up to him.
"I'll wait for you, even after death."
He drops my chin and walks away, through the forest, back to school.
I take one glance at the forest and wince.
A big hole of burnt-ness.
I growl at myself and walk after Gavin.________________________
Scar POVWhere am I?
Someone there? I need help.
Pain flows through my body as a man in the pitch blackness that surrounds me is torturing me, injecting me with poisons, whipping me with sticks.
"Where are your offsprings?" asks the voice.
They're my children.
"Never telling you" I spit.
He growls and puts something hot on my leg.
I bite down my scream and I growl.
"I hate you."
"You're not the first."
He whips me with a leather strip and a scream escapes.
"Where are they?" he asks.
"They.....are....up your ass."
He roars and hits me in the face, making me see red.
"I hope you rot in hell demon."
"Oh please, the names Gratin." and with that, he stabs me in the shoulder and leaves.
The pain.
I need help.
Please, anyone.
They can't treat me like, I'm the Vampiress, I am royal.
