As soon as she got there, she could sense the magical energy emanating from the security surrounding it. There were over twenty barriers. They looked as strong as the ones in the castle. She could get through them, but she also had to get through the guards posted every twenty meters. They were sent there to see if any member of the royal family survived and went to hide, but they wouldn't be expecting her since they thought she was dead. This was an advantage. Now all she had to do was get inside the building and get the keys.

The only way in was to go in a straight line. She couldn't give them a chance to recognize her and report it. She would have to kill them on sight. Even after everything that happened the thought of taking a life gave her chills.

She got to the first barrier without being seen, she could sense the energy pulsing through it. It took her about fifty seconds before it fell. One of the guards noticed her first. He ran towards her, weapon in hand.

She had never felt that kind of rush before. As soon as he was close enough, she took the knife from her side and stabbed him in the heart. Warm blood started to run down her hand. He coughed up blood and then collapsed. The sight of his body almost made her puke, but then something else overtook her. Satisfaction, looking at the body on the floor everything else disappeared and a new energy overtook her. The pulsation of the magical energy was inside of her. Every single barrier and person inside of the building was running through her body and with only a snap of her finger she could destroy them all. She had never felt such power and, mixed with the anger and pain she had been carrying, she wasn't considering holding back.

The barriers started to fall one by one. All of the guards came towards her, she snapped her fingers and they fell, necks broken. She was inside the building with only a handful of guards left. Now, she needed to get to the library. It contained a secret weapons room that wasn't on the blueprints and it was the safest place in the compound. She wasn't even thinking by now. Everything felt like a dream. A guard came at her and managed to cut her; he fell to the floor frozen. She never thought she could be this ruthless.

When she reached the library, the guards were all dead. The feeling that overtook her at the beginning was gone. The only thing left was pain, and now guilt. All of the men she had killed, she thought she had a good reason but, in that moment, she couldn't remember it. All she could remember was all the dead bodies from the castle and the ones around her.

She starts feeling cold, immensely cold. She's never felt this, but she does recognize it. They say it starts like this. First, you get cold. It overtakes your body. Anger causes it, and pain. She can't control it anymore. She has been controlling it since the fire, but she can't do it anymore, so she lets it overcome her. The first thing to go are her hands. They turn to ice, indestructible ice, then it takes over the lower part of her body. It doesn't cause pain; it brings her true nature out. The ice contradicts the darkness. It is only trying to protect her. When it reaches her eyes, the ice turns them completely white, just endless white. The last thing she remembers before it overtakes her is the keys in her hand.
