The Last Hope

The Plan

        When they arrived at the compound they got into position. Mia was supposed to stay behind and take care of any reinforcements, once Dylan and Noah were safe, she would help Sofia take Elliot down. She wasn't so fond of the plan, but Sofia was good at taking people out fast and clean, so they agreed she would be a distraction.

         Mia saw Sofia break into the compound, she moved fast... before Mia could do anything her vision became blurry and she started too loose consciousness. She struggled to stay awake but after a few minutes she collapsed as everything went dark. When she opened her eyes she was in front of the compound, she wasn't alone. When she focused, she sensed Sofia, she could hear Sofia; she was inside Sofia's mind.

          The building was covered in barriers and protective spells but using one of Rose's powers I managed to take them down before they saw me. They started to attack with poisoned arrows, and light energy balls. I avoided every single one, it seemed to be going in slow motion, when I got close enough, I called upon Hell; one of my favorite powers. The power opened a soul gate straight to Hell, yanking the souls of every single guard in a fifty-meter range; their bodies all collapsed at the same time.

            When I got to the south end of the building, I saw him, he was sitting on a chair waiting for me, he knew I would come for him. As we made eye contact, he smiled, a wicked smile I had never seen on him. With a snap of my finger everyone of his guards fell, necks broken, all dead.

"You can't hide from me with them Elliot, you know very well how good I am at getting my prey."

"Oh trust me I remember, and I was prepared too. Remember this?" He disappeared and materialized in front of me dagger in hand ready to strike. I dodged him but before I could strike back, he disappeared.

"Oh come on Sofia do you not remember our training?" I heard a light laugh before I felt it, an arrow, straight through my femoral artery.

"An arrow? Are you that much of a coward? Did you have to attack not only from far away but from behind? Come on you can do better than that?" I covered my wound in flames, they would make it heal faster.

"Don't be so naive Sofia it wasn't just any arrow." That's when it hit me Mia's arrows, they were the most dangerous arrows in existence. One more of those and I'm done for.

        Everything started to blur, a normal arrow wouldn't have such a fast effect it had to be Mia's; the darker the being the faster the venom spread, I could feel the poison start running through my system.

"Before you ask, yes, I might have stolen some of those fancy arrows Mia uses, remember those? They were at the castle; I know only the queen can use them, but I couldn't resist myself. I've been dying to test them out, oh... sorry too soon?"

"When did you become such an asshole? Where did that pure, kind and sweet guy go?" The poison started making me groggy if I don't act soon, I won't be able to stop him.

"Come on Sofia don't tell me the keeper of Hell couldn't see the darkness inside of me. It has always been there you just were too dumb to notice. Now before you go, will you say hi to Rose for me? I miss her so..."

        At the mention of Rose's name I started to lose control, Mia had said not to let go, she was worried I wouldn't be able to come back. But to defeat him I have to let go, just for a little while, once I do, I'll be able to get rid of the poison and him. I can control it, there's no way I'm letting him kill anyone I love again. The pain started on my right leg where the arrow went through, it moved quickly I could feel the flames start surrounding me, healing me. The pain stopped, and when I looked down so had the wound.

          As it took over, everything went black I could no longer control my body I couldn't see anything. It felt like hours but when I open my eyes, I was on top of him, his chest opened and his heart in my hands. I could feel the warmth of his blood on my face and hands, his heart was still warm.

I lost time again...

       I opened my eyes and I was outside, surrounded by flames; I looked back and the building it was on fire, not normal fire blue fire. When I looked around me again, I noticed that my flames were also blue, I had summoned Hell's fire.

        Darkness started to pull me away, it keeps getting harder to fight it. I sensed their life force before I saw them, surrounded by a barrier also made with blue flames were Dylan and Noah. Dylan looked weak, he was covered in blood; Noah was holding him up as he held the shield.

I can't hold on any longer, as I lose consciousness one last time, I see her, Rose appeared in front of me.

"I know you can't hold on, don't worry I'm here; you're not alone, soon it'll all be over. Mia will save you; you'll see, she'll save us all." Rose voice sounded sad; her eyes were filled with tears.

       As she took my hand in hers, she said: "It will hurt but you will be alright, I'm not leaving your side." She made me understand, all I could do is nod, a tear escaped me; I tried to tell her, but she already knew.

"I love you too..."
