"which dress do you think is better for the sleepover?" bella asked kay, showing her two pictures on her phone.

one of the dresses was a short sleeved mini black dress, and the other one was another black dress but it reached her mid calf. kay was stunned immediately by bella's beauty, and was speechless when she saw the pictures. the second dress showed off bella's arms and curves a bit more than the first dress, but kay didn't feel like it resembled her personality.

"hello?" bella asked, waving in front of kay's face, "which one?"

kay shook her head, snapping out of her thoughts, "the second one. i think it's more you."

bella smiled, "i thought so too."

after a few more minutes of talking, the two stood up from their usual spot on the beach and began to get ready to leave. bella looked up at the sky and saw dark grey clouds.

"uh, are you walking to your apartment complex?" bella asked.

kay shook her head, and pointed up to the sky, "i looked at the weather this morning, and it said it's going to thunderstorm. i drove here."

bella nodded, "oh, y-yeah."

"what's wrong?" kay inquired.

"nothing," bella lied. "i'm going to head to my c-car, i'll see you soon."

bella was lying. she does not have a car, or her license, or even a permit. kay normally waits for bella to get picked up by raffaella, and leaves when bella is already walking with her mom. however, bella's mother was very exhausted, and of all days to have bella walk home alone, it had to be the day it was going to thunderstorm.

as bella continued to walk in the opposite direction of kay, she noticed kay's car was heading toward her.

"where's your car?" kay queried, rolling down her window.

"u-um, i think it's over there," bella lied.

kay gave her a look, "isabella, i may not know everything about you, but i do know that you don't have your license or permit."

bella looked down at the ground, and tried to hide her embarrassed face. kay asked, "uh, do you n-need a ride?"

she sighed, "i can walk, the apartment complex is up the beach a bit more."

that was another lie. bella's apartment room was all the way on the far side of where their spot on the beach is, but she didn't want to be dependent and have to ask kay for a ride. all of the sudden, a rain droplet hit bella. she looked up at the grey sky, and more droplets came down.

"now do you want a ride?" kay questioned, laughing a bit.

bella nodded, and opened the door to the passenger seat of kay's car. she pulled out, and then received a text.

"shoot..." kay mumbled.

"what's wrong?" bella questioned.
