"i had a really great friend, well crush," bella started, "her name was nora."
"nora? she has the same name as my cat?" gabbie questioned.
bella nodded her head, "your cat doesn't have the same name as her. she had the same name."
"why past tense?" gabbie questioned, "i'm confused."
"she's, u-um," bella choked on her words, "she's dead."
kay's face dropped, "i-i'm so sorry, bella."
"i knew nora since sixth grade, and we met at a dance class," bella began to explain, "our parents got to know each other, and she lived twenty minutes away, so none of my current friends really knew her that well."
bella felt her voice begin to break, and her eyes slowly began to form tears again, "we did everything together. we had sleepovers, family vacations, and so much more. however, when we got to eighth grade, it was like everything had changed. we began to become way more distant, and that sucked. maybe because we were so busy? i still don't know. it was so hard not being able to talk to nora.. because i was in love with her."
"for how long were you in love with her?" kay asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
"i was in love with nora since we were young," bella answered, "i didn't realize it until i took her to a dance when we were in seventh grade. at her school, the dance was combined with eighth graders, ninth graders, and tenth graders."
bella pulled out her phone, and went through all her posts with nora in her archived section.
