"Hmph. Fine then," I crossed my arms, looking out the window.
I heard a small chuckle escape Hyunjin's mouth.
I felt excited to go out for once. It's been a while since I went out. Da-Eun and I went shopping a few days ago and we were planning to spend the rest of the day at her house, but she had plans after that, so I ended up not going to her place. And Kylie and I did go drinking...but we won't talk about that.
As we hit the road, I noticed little raindrops starting to form on the front window of the car. I took my phone out to check how long it would rain. Great. It's going to rain until 5 pm. I don't mind the rain, but I usually like the rain if I'm at home. It just hits differently when I'm at home.
Hyunjin continued driving on the road as we carefully pulled up to the parking lot of our destination. I looked around to see that we were at the mall. I wonder what we were going to do here.
"We're here!" He said, parking the car.
"The mall?" I asked, unbuckling my seat belt.
He nodded and smiled widely at me.
"I know you've been feeling down lately, so I wanted to cheer you up and decided to do that by going to the mall."
"Aw that's sweet," I looked at him and smiled.
We started heading towards the mall's front doors, him in front of me. I went inside as he opened the door for me and I looked around to see where to go first.
"Where do you wanna go first?" Hyunjin asked while looking around as well.
"How about we go there!" I said, as I pointed to a clothing store.
I don't usually like spending my money on clothes unless I need to, but splurging once in a while won't hurt.
We headed inside the store as the staff of the store greeted us.
"Wah you guys make such a cute couple!" Said one of the staff while smiling widely at the both of us.
Hyunjin and I looked at each other with widened eyes and chuckled nervously.
"W-we're not a couple," I tell the staff member and let out a nervous laugh. "We're just friends."
I saw Hyunjin frown a bit when I said we were just friends.
"Aw, well if you guys do end up getting together, you would make a very cute couple," The staff smiled and let us go explore.
We continued looking around the store to see if there was anything we liked or wanted to buy.
"Do you see something you like?" I turned to look at Hyunjin.
"Mmm not yet. Did you?" He shook his head no while looking at the graphic t-shirt in front of him.
"Me neither," I decided to go to the sweater section since I've been needing a few sweaters for the winter season lately.
I don't have that many clothes for winter as I usually stay inside. It's been getting really cold though, almost colder than it usually gets in the winter, and I tend to take the bus or walk to school, so I've been in need of warmer clothes for a while now.
I ended up finding a couple of cute sweaters that I liked and could easily style with all my other clothing pieces. I went to go see if Hyunjin got anything, but he only got a pair of shoes.
"Why didn't you get yourself anything?" I asked.
"I already have a lot of clothes. Almost too much," He chuckled through that sentence. "So, I decided to get some new shoes since I've been in need of some for a while."
At this point, I felt bad that he only got a pair of shoes, while I was holding five pairs of sweaters.
"I feel bad that you only got one pair of shoes, so I'll go put these back."
"Oh no it's okay! There's no need to do that. I'll pay for those." He smiled and grabbed the sweaters from my hands and placed them on the cashier's counter.
"But wouldn't it be too much?" I looked at him a bit worried. I didn't want him to spend lots of money on me, I mean I did bring my own wallet just in case.
"It's okay, don't worry. It won't be too much." He gave the card to the cashier as she said the price.
"That'll be $79.99."
My jaw dropped a bit. I always forgot how expensive clothing can get at the mall. I looked at Hyunjin and then the cashier and back at Hyunjin. He looked at me and smiled while mouthing 'don't worry' and paid for all the clothing. He grabbed the bags and we left.
"Wah this is too much! You really didn't need to pay for me." I said.
"Oh no it's fine! It's the least I can do." He flashed his typical big, bright smile, which always brought butterflies to my stomach.
