April pulled me to the T.V. area and sat me down. She explained that the four turtles were only babies when they were mutated by a glowing green ooze from some TCRI place and they have a master who was away at the moment. The master trained the four turtles the way of ninjitsu and therefore naming them after Renaissance artists.

“Wow,” I whispered and April nodded.

“My sons, I am home. Who is this?”

I turned and my eyes widened.

“Um, April, you never mentioned a human sized talking rat.”

“That’s Master Splinter,” she said and I turned to see her smiling.

“None of this can be real,” I said and stood up, glaring at April. “Those four turtles and the rat are just costumes.”

“No they are real.”

“I need to go back to Raidens’, hell I’ll even go back to Oroku Towers, somewhere with reality still in check,” I said and April sighed, nodding.

“We’re going guys,” April called and the orange banded turtle, Mikey, appeared out of nowhere, causing me to jump.

“Aw you’re already leaving?”

“Yeah, sorry Mikes.”

I was suddenly engulfed in muscular arms and I wriggled around, trying to get out.

“Rule one,” I said, finally getting free and turning to glare at Mikey. “Do not hug me. I hate physical contact.”

Mikey nodded and took a couple of steps back.

“First rule here is ignore Mikey, your life will be much better,” Raph smirked and Mikey folded his arms.

I rolled my eyes and tapped my foot, waiting for April. She wandered over to Don and spoke to him in a hushed voice before, finally leading me out of the sewers.

“What does Casey think about all this?” I asked and April raised an eyebrow.

“He knows about it,” she said. “Raph and him a great friends.”

“You have got to be kidding me.”

Once we were back in April’s apartment, I shoved my stuff into my bag and turned to April, who was watching from the dinner table.

“Thanks for putting up with me,” I said and April nodded.

“Your skateboard is behind the shoe rack,” she said. “Casey put it there when he brought you here.”

I nodded and grabbed it before walking out the door, letting it close with a soft click.

“Order one seventeen.”

The smell of pizza wafted around me as I cooked and cut each pizza as they came through, occasionally taking a sip of water. Raiden had managed to hire another person to help out while I was gone and the kid is barely managing.

“Here,” I said and placed a water bottle down in front of him.

The kid smiled and drank half the bottle. He turned back to the pizza he was cooking. Make that burning. I sighed and pulled the pizza out of the oven. The kid groaned and sat down.

“I can’t do this.”

“Practise makes perfect,” I smiled and the kid looked up, his blue eyes gleaming. “Come on, I’ll cook, you cut.”

He nodded and grabbed some pizza cutters from out the back, as well as boxes.

“Come on you two,” Raiden called from the front. “The line is out the door.”
