It's been a couple of weeks since my album release party, and manning damage control for everything that went down with Brody has been my teams number one goal. The past few weeks have been full of outings with Addison that are documented by paparazzi and multiple interviews that are strictly to be about my album, as per request by Chris.
I haven't seen much of Joslyn lately, I only seem to see her for a few moments in passing. It's usually only whenever Addison is around, when Joslyn's working. I've been so busy with Addison lately and trying to start my own career over again that I hardly have time to myself anymore, and I know she's been busy with Addison's hectic schedule right now, award season right around the corner.
I'm supposed to meet up with Addison today so we can both go together to get fitted by our stylist. To make our official red carpet debut, they want us to coordinate our outfits so we can look like the new 'it' couple. I just have to get through her rehearsals first.
Walking through the halls of the private dance studio, I pass an empty room, a flash of gold catching my eye. I stop and walk through the door way, finding a little girl sitting on the hardwood floor coloring. I look around, not finding anyone with her.
Sensing my presence, she looks up at me with her big bright blue eyes. "Hi!" she says with so much enthusiasm I can't help but smile.
"Hi." I crouch down in front of her, looking at her coloring book that's scribbled in. "What are you doing here?"
"Coloring," she says simply, going back to poorly coloring inside the lines.
I chuckle. "I see that." I look more closely at the drawing she's coloring and notice it's a princess being saved by a prince from a dragon, the page next to it an illustration of the two getting married, living happily ever after. She hasn't colored that one yet.
I take a seat next to her, crisscrossing my legs and watch her color. "I guess the princess gets a happy ending, huh?" I ask.
"Yeah." She shrugs nonchalantly.
"What, not a fan of happy endings?" I joke.
"Not all stories have happy endings," she explains in her adorable little toddler voice.
I frown. "How old are you?" I ask, wondering how such a little girl could know such a thing.
"Three," she says, holding up three fingers. Her three sounds more like 'free'.
"You're pretty wise for being just a three year old. How do you know that not all stories have happy endings?"
"My auntie told me so. She says that sometimes the bad guy gets away and the good guys don't always win."
I just nod, not really knowing how to argue with that. "Not always, though."
"Hallie!" I hear someone yell from down the hallway. "Hallie?"
