Christmas.
Felix and Changbin sat together in the corner of Jisung and Minho's apartment, waiting for the perfect opportunity to leave the party.
"Y'know, it might be Christmas, but that doesn't mean I'm not, like, dying inside," Changbin sighed.
Felix snorted. "Well, you might be normal dying, but I'm Feliz Navidying."
"That was a horrible joke."
"Was not."
"Was too."
"Was not."
"We aren't having this argument."
Felix pouted, and Changbin gestured for the former to sit with him. There was enough space on the couch for two people; Felix shouldn't have been sitting on the windowsill anyway. Felix curled up in Changbin's lap, his eyes drifting shut in the warm, familiar embrace.
"You think Kkami and Simon are doing fine at home?" Felix asked worriedly. Changbin smiled.
They'd decided to adopt Kkami years ago, when Felix's mom's friend's cousin's husband's former colleague had mentioned that his son would need to give his dog away when he went abroad to focus on his career. Felix and Hyunjin had instantly clicked, and Hyunjin was more than happy to put his "angel" in their care.
Simon, on the other hand, was the cat that Felix had fallen in love with the day after Changbin proposed parenthood. They named him after a special duck-sized horse, because Simon and Simon's hides were the same brownish-blackish color. Simon and Kkami got along well, thankfully.
Changbin brushed aside a strand of Felix's hair, pressing a soft kiss against his husband's forehead. "Kkami is fine, Lixie. Simon, too. I just want out. Like, I love Jisung, Minho, and their family, but this is just a tad too social for me."
"We're in the corner of the back room. The next place to go is home," Felix reasoned. "Can't we come up with an excuse or something?"
Something sparked in Changbin's eyes as an idea came to him. "Pretend you're asleep."
Felix obliged, easily letting his eyes drift shut. Changbin lifted him up easily. He'd been carrying Felix in this manner since before they were married; it became second-nature after a while. Changbin carried Felix naturally, ey ey.
"Oh, man. Lix fell asleep already? Looks like the shot of caffeine in his champagne didn't help," Jisung lamented, throwing Changbin a mischievous wink. "Either that, or y'all need to learn to deal with social events. Merry Christmas!"
Changbin felt Felix tense in his arms, alarmed by the aforementioned "shot of caffeine." Why am I tired, then, if I had a shot of caffeine?" He opened his eyes just enough to look around. Had anyone else taken a sip?
Seeing Seungmin, Minho's prank-war affiliate, bouncing off the walls was enough to let Felix know that someone had swapped their drinks. He pitied Seungmin's sleep schedule.
Felix's feet found the floor as Changbin put him down in the elevator. They got to the lobby after just a minute of silence, but, once they were out of the warm building, Changbin picked Felix up once more.
"Home?" the younger man mumbled, wanting to sleep.
Changbin hoisted Felix up, making sure he wouldn't fall. "Home. To Simon. To Kkami. And, most importantly, to Netfelix and popcorn."
