olivia laughed on the other side of the line as y/n struggled to get out of the conversation.
"damn, that's crazy."
y/n was on her second "damn that's crazy," but apparently, olivia couldn't get the hint.
"i know right. well anyway, i wanted to invite you to meet my boyfriend tomorrow. we were going to go out on a date but i decided it would be good for my best friend to finally know who my boyfriend is."
olivia said.
y/n rolled her eyes at olivia's request and held back a giggle. they were barely even friends and everyone who knew them knew that except for olivia herself. but y/n was too nice to confront her about it. however, y/n had no plans for tomorrow and decided that going would be harmless.
"sure. where do you wanna meet?"
y/n asked, playing with her dark hair.
"great!"
olivia replied.
olivia told y/n to meet her and her boyfriend at a local restaurant at eleven o'clock tomorrow morning. y/n wrote down the information and hung up the phone. then she got ready for bed.

y/n woke up at about ten o'clock, panicking at the thought of being late for her "date." she quickly got out of her bed and went to go shower.
after doing so, y/n moisturized and got dressed. she did her hair and makeup and got ready to leave the house, grabbing her wallet and putting on her shoes. in a matter of minutes, y/n arrived at the restaurant. it was fifteen minutes passed eleven but y/n tried to ignore that fact.
she walked into the large room and looked around for olivia's familiar face. she turned around once she heard her name being called. y/n smiled and walked over to the booth at the far corner of the restaurant.
"it's about time, y/n! this is my boyfriend, yoongi. yoongi, this is y/n."
olivia introduced the strangers to each other.
y/n smiled.
"hi."
yoongi was about to respond but was cut off by his girlfriend.
"sorry. my minnie-kins is a little shy."
olivia said, smushing his cheeks.
y/n cringed at the nickname and was uncomfortable, she could tell yoongi was uncomfortable too. she brushed it off with an awkward chuckle.
"so...have you guys ordered yet? i'm thinking i wanna get something different today. maybe some chicken and waffles."
y/n trailed off at the last part of the sentence.
after ordering, y/n got a text and pulled her phone out of her pocket.
"do you like anime too?!"
yoongi excitedly asked.
y/n was speechless as she looked down at her wrist.

y/n read over the words and gulped heavily.
when y/n turned fifteen and saw those five words on her wrist, she immediately learned everything about anime that she could, ranging from the history to the different genres. she had even picked up some japanese and was getting pretty decent.
y/n was flabbergasted and looked up at yoongi, then looked at Olivia.
"uh, yeah i-"
olivia cut y/n off and turned to yoongi.
"yoongi, what did i tell you about talking about anime in public. it's embarrassing and it makes you look like a nerd."
olivia scoffed and turned to y/n.
"i'm so sorry, y/n. you know how men are. always so full of themselves. yoongi's totally out of his mind to assume something so ridiculous like that."
olivia punched yoongi's shoulder and y/n saw him wince.
y/n wasn't sure what liking anime and talking about it had to do with yoongi being male or why olivia was so bothered about it.
"um, there's no problem with talking about it and i actually do like anime and manga. there's no reason to be so harsh."
y/n hid her face with her menu as she rolled her eyes.
she picked her phone up from the cushioned bench she was sitting on and showed olivia her saiki k phone case. y/n saw yoongi struggling to mask the grin on his face with a nonchalant look.
olivia rolled her eyes.
just then, the waiter approached their booth and set their food down. the group said their thank-yous and began to eat.
throughout the whole meal, y/n was struggling to wrap her head around the fact that olivia's boyfriend was her soulmate. she didn't necessarily like the girl but y/n wasn't a man stealer. y/n took a sip of her soda and stared at yoongi for a while.
i mean technically, he was mine in the first place. so she's the man stealer.
y/n convinced herself and continued eating.
