summary: when jeongguk was five, his parents were murdered by a loan shark, lee soojung, that was also the leader of a mafia. soojung adopted jeongguk out of guilt and has been raising him ever since. however, jeongguk secretly has a plan to kill soojung eventually. he's upset that soojung forced him into the mafia lifestyle. he knows his anger will eventually force him to kill soojung and is afraid of that sideof him. after his teacher gets into an accident, jeongguk is forced to go to a school around his area. there, he meets a girl named y/n and they fall in love. he only hopes that she doesn't see the part of him that he tries to hide from everyone, even himself.

jeongguk shot down the last target and took off his sound-eliminating headgear. he put the gun away and went back up to his room.
he changed and took a shower. jeongguk closed his eyes, melting into the hot water as he washed his body.
the cucumber-scented body-wash soothed his senses and helped to distract him from the disturbing memories that reoccurred in his mind.
jeongguk quickly opened his eyes again. the whole in his heart seemed to grow larger with every passing moment that his father was still alive.
he quickly finished showering and stepped out of the shower. jeongguk got changed and got into his comfortable bed. he took his pills and quickly fell asleep.

five-year-old jeongguk woke up to the sound of screaming and yelling. his tiny feet carried him out of his racecar bed. he walked into his parents' bedroom to see what was going on.
"mo-"
jeongguk started to talk but cut himself off when he saw what was in front of him. there was a strange man in his house.
he had a few other men there with him and they were all big. his parents were kneeling in front of them with their hands up.
jeongguk wondered if eating all his vegetables would make him look like that too.
"i told you that if you didn't get the money to me by last week, i'd have your heads!"
the biggest man suddenly yelled, startling jeongguk.
"i know! b-but business at the restaurant has been slow lately and we haven't made enough to pay you yet. i-i swear, when we get the money, the first thing we'll do is give you a call just please-."
