Cassidy's POV

Jimmy dropped me off in front of my house and waited in his car to keep in warm. That and he doesn't get along well my mom or Christine as I call her.

As I walk into the living room I see that Christine is actually home for once and she has her sleez bag of a boyfriend Mark over too. And they weren't just sitting on the couch, they were doing passionate foreplay right smack there in the living room.

"Seriously Christine? I thought you were taking the trash out, not fucking it on the couch." I kicked my shoes off and rolled my eyes as Mark got up. I trot down to my room and he follows.

"You're a real piece of crap you know that Cassidy?" He slurred in his thick New York/Italian accent.

"I'm not the one banging an older women on the couch" I simply replied in a matter of fact tone. Mark and I always have insult fests, I of course always win.

"You were a mistake, Christine don't even want you. You should try to kill yourself again honey, that was too good." He just drones on and on.

"Okay Mark yeah uh huh cool" I say as I start packing my bag up, I'm staying with Jimmy for Thanksgiving break like I have since basically forever.

"Where are you going? Your piece of shit boyfriends house?"

I felt my jaw clench and fists tighten together. I hate when anybody, especially Mark, talks bad about Jimmy.

"Shut up Mark. You're forty years old and you're talking shit about seventeen year olds? Do something better with your life." I pushed by him with my bag. I grab my shoes and say "Peace Christine" then go outside into the frigid New York air.

I take a moment to breathe in the sweet and cold night air. It hurts my lungs but I absolutely love the scent of winter, its just so comforting.

I'm knocked out of my wintery trance by Jimmy beeping his horn. I jog over and pop in the passenger seat, feeling the warmth of his car embrace me.

"You good?" He asked me, knowing the situation that usually occurs inside my house.

"Of course, he doesn't bother me. When says stuff about you is what really irks me." I buckled my seatbelt and threw my feet on the dash.

"Don't worry Cas, its fine. He's nothing to you or to me." Jimmy assured me while beginning to drive. It's just began to start flurrying out. It was beautiful and so innocent looking. The black road and the charcoal sky were illuminated by headlights and snowflakes. Suddenly, I began crying. Not just little crying, full on heaving sobs and I could not stop. Jimmy pulled over and slammed on the breaks. He got out if his side and ran over to my door, throwing it open. I fell into his arms and continued my sobbing.

"Shhh baby girl, you're okay, you're okay." He cooed as he stroked my hair and held me close to his chest.

We stayed like this awhile until it got really cold and he slid in next to me, still holding me tight.

"Jimmy?" I whispered, tilting my head so I can see he chocolate eyes.

"Yeah Cas?" He whispered back, keeping a steady stroke on my back.

"Can we play in the snow?" I asked. We've been on the side of the road for about an hour, snow has collected on the ground and its still coming down.

A huge grin appeared on his face.

"Of course!" He shouted. At the same time we both burst out of his car and immediately started playing in the snow. We threw handfuls of the white powder towards each other and slipped in the slush. Freaking Jimmy even picked me up and threw me a giant snow pile that the snow plows have made.

Jimmy settled down by laying peacefully on the ground, catching snowflakes on his tongue.

"Do you think if I stay here, I'll become a snowman, like Frosty?" He asked, beginning to make a snow angel.

I laughed and joined him. "You need the magic hat silly."

He agreed while turning on his side to face me.

"You're eyelashes look pretty with snowflakes on them" he said while pushing a piece of hair out of my face. Jimmy is so corny yet smooth with compliments, I don't understand why girls aren't dropping at his feet yet.

"Alright well you're shivering like a puppy on cocaine, lets get you home." He said as he got up, helping me up too.

He gave me his jacket which I reluctantly took. Jimmy placed his arm around me and started singing "Let it Snow" on the top of his lungs, causing me to laugh until tears were streaming down my face.

I looked at Jimmy as he belted out the lyrics, his smile radiating into the street lights. The smile on my face grew as I realized this is my best friend, my rock and my everything. He is what I am most thankful in my life and that, is the best thing ever to me.
