I sighed softly as I took a seat in the corner, waving at Maxy behind the bar. I didn't particularly feel like interacting with anyone, just wanted a drink to wash away the rough day. There weren't many people in the bar in general and that was fine by me. "What ya want today, Mermaid?" I giggle, "Just a beer," He opened his mouth to ask which kind but I cut him off, "whatever's pouring easy from the tap today, Max." He smiled and walked off chuckling.

Max always put me in a good mood. He brought back a beer with a tiny umbrella in it. I chuckled, "Thanks how much is this one?" Max shook his head, "On the house apparently." I looked up, "You didn't have-" He shook his head again, "New Owner...he said it's on the house for the Mermaid." I frowned slightly, "I  didn't know Old Man Curry sold."

"He didn't, he passed." A deep voice echoed near me. I looked up at the tall burly blond. He wasn't stocky and burly more so a swimmer's body is there were weights in the sea. He had long blond hair and a freshly shaven face. He had eyes green, like the vegetation of the oceans. "I'm s-sorry to hear that. He was a kind man, took care of me when I first moved here. Gave me the nickname, Mermaid, cause I was 'gonna be the queen of the sea', he said." The blond laughed, "Uncle was correct in naming you that, seaflower."

" I didn't know he had a nephew let alone family." I said, surprised. The man nodded and held out his hand, " I'm Arthur...Arthur Curry. You mind if I have a beer with you?" I snorted softly, "A beer with a Blond, oh the guys at work would be jealous."

He laughed and ordered a beer from Max after sitting next to me in the booth. "Why's a cutie like you sitting in the dark corner alone?" I sigh, "Avoiding a man like you." He smiled and sipped his beer. We sat in silence for a bit just enjoying the chemistry.

"That being said, I am enjoying the company." I said as I fiddle with the bar menu. " You mind if I eat something? Just got off work." He shakes his head and scoots closer. "Nope, In fact I might order something myself. We got a new chef in back and he's been bored to death." I giggle and tilt the menu so both of us are able to read it.

"I think I'll go for the dolphin rider." He grumbles seemingly unhappy with the name. " Why order something you don't like?" I asked softly as I scan the menu. Dolphin Rider: two small catfish sandwiches with coleslaw, hot sauce and lettuce topped with a pickle rider.

"It's really good it's just the name is a joke at my expense." I cough out laughter, " I see. I think I'll get the King's Trident. A plate of shrimp scampi and butter noodles sound delicious right now." Max came back around to take the orders and refill our beers.

We chatted as our food was made, about minut things in our lives. "What do you plan on doing with this place?" I asked curious and hopeful. " Keep it around, probably update it to make it attractive to people." He smiled and looked around with nostalgia in his eyes. "That'd be amazing. You know I love this place, hoped you take care of it. "

I smiled at him and scratched my head. " Not that it's my place to tell you what to do. " He shook his head, " I get it, Darlin', I'll keep it safe." At that moment, Max brought our food, grumbling about him being a bartender not a waiter. "If you need a waitress, I hate my job... Loading up the fish that's been caught isn't fun or something I enjoy. "

Arthur looked at me, " Go on a date with me. " I stared at him confused," What? " He smiled brightly, " A date... Friday Night? Trust me." I study him for a bit, "where'd this come from?" He scratched his head, "been gathering the courage to ask you, I guess." I nodded, " Pick me up at 7:30pm!" I tapped his beer glass as I stood up and paid before walking to the door.

Arthur's POV
I shook my head, "Shit, I didn't get her contact info." I sighed as I tilted my glass to take another drink. As I looked I spotted a piece of paper on the underside.

Friday, 7:30pm...
No second chances, Dolphin Rider

See ya soon
Y/F/N "Mermaid" Y/L/N

I sat back in the booth and let out a heavy laugh. Y/N was something else, I liked that. Uncle Poseidon was right, she was worthy of being Queen of the Sea. Much more than Mera has shown. Guess Y/N enjoyed having a beer with a blond
