chapter 15

it's been three years, but we're back bitches

suga pov.

daichi.
he makes me so happy.
never in my life did i ever think i'd experience such a euphoria. he's the sweetest thing in the world and i wouldn't trade him for anything.
today is our anniversary, he has something special planned. he asked me to dress nice, like really nice.
i thought we were going to do something more lowkey but it's romantic of him to go out of his way for me.

i hopped out of the shower and dried my hair with a towel. i changed into some nice pants and a button up. i decided to fix my hair so it was a little more fancy and not so cutesy.

i picked up my keys and headed for the door. daichi gave me the address of where to meet him, and i headed down the street.
i chose to go walking since it wasn't too far away. i walk around the town for a tad and it seems i reached my destination. it's a restaurant, but it has outdoor seating, with plants and fairy lights as decor. as i walk closer to the entrance i see him, seating in a chair, looking rather anxious. he looks up and stands as he sees me.
"Hi"
"Hi"
awh, his smile.
"Here, let me get that for you."
he crosses to the other side of the table and pulls out my chair for me to take a seat.
"Well thank you, my dear", i say as i smile.

daichi takes his seat and looks at me.

"Well, did you have a good morning?"

"Well yes, but I didn't see you much so it wasn't that good."

"Sorry, I didn't mean to abandon you, especially today. I just wanted to get everything set up and make sure it was all perfect for our anniversary dinner."
"You know you didn't have to, but I appreciate it very much, thank you."  i say with a smile

"Good evening, welcome to Heather's, may I take your or- Daichi??!"

i look up from the menu, and i see the waiter staring wide eyed at my daichi.

"Oh, hi Kani, I didn't know you worked here."
"Oh my gosh it's been forever? How have you been? I've missed you so much!"

missed him? so much?

"Ah, yeah I guess its been a while. Um could we maybe catch up some other time? You're at work..."

"Oh! You're right, my bad. Just call me anytime so we can meet up, you have my number. So what would you guys like to eat?"

daichi..has his number?

i tried to forget that little encounter and enjoy my celebration with daichi, but i just couldn't shake it off.
through out the night Kani kept coming back, i mean of course, he was our waiter. everytime he would come by to bring us more water or ask how we were doing, i'd catch him sneak a glance at my daichi and i'd see a sparkle in Kani's eyes. i didn't like that.

we finished our dinner and daichi paid as i walked off just a tad. i turned back and noticed the two of them talking again. i turned back around and kicked a rock on the ground.
pfft. so much for an anniversary.

i was lost in thought when i felt arms around me.

"Let's go home, love."

daichi takes my hand in his and we walk back home.
his hand, it's so soft and warm. it feels like a cloud. his thumb makes circular motions on my hand and it's so calming. i never want to let go.

we reach our house and he unlocks the door. he turns on the light and i see flowers and candy on our table.

"But,,how?!"

that wasn't there when i left.

"Ah, I had Asahi drop by while we were at dinner and set this up."

my daichi, he's so sweet.

he reaches for the bouquet of flowers, and i smile as he walks over to me. he puts one of his arms around my waist and i melt into his arms.

"Happy Anniversary, my love", he says as he hands me the bouquet.
"Happy Anniversary, Daichi"

he smiles as he leans in.
his lips touch mine and i feel like i am floating. his lips, they're so soft and so gentle. i never get tired of kissing him. i could kiss him everyday all day.

he pulls back and i pull him into a hug. we stay there, for a while, just hugging. i don't want to let go.

daichi was peacefully sleeping next to me, but i kept rolling around, restless. i guess daichi distracted me for a while but i'm back to thinking about Kani.

i get up and walk towards the window of our bedroom.
i hear some shuffling noises and i look back.

"Is everything okay, my love?"

"Yes Daichi, go back to bed. I just needed some fresh air."

he mumbles and gives me a tiny smile as he dozed back off.

i turn back around and open the window. i do really need the fresh air.
i smile as i think about daichi, and the cute little smile he just gave me. but that smile is destroyed by the thought of Kani eyeing up daichi.
i know i shouldn't worry about this. i trust daichi, and i'm sure i've got it all wrong.

but i can't help to overthink. 

i didn't like the way Kani looked at him. i didn't like the things he said.
"I've missed you so much!"
"You have my number"
his voice kept echoing in my head.
maybe nothing happened because Kani was acting pushy but Daichi seemed normal, and uncomfortable. or maybe Daichi is just a good actor and was hiding it all from me.

i clutch my shirt in anger.

i don't know what's going on, but i do know one thing.

daichi, is my daichi.
