15 years later
There isn't a god you realized. Hell, there isn't even a devil.
Humanity is alone, alone with all it's stupidity and clearly, they aren't able to handle it themselves.
Or at least that's what the old lady arguing with the cashier about the prize of a pack of extra large condoms showed you.
You bit your lip in frustration, trying to suppress the slowly increasing need to just run out of the store with all the items you would probably never get to pay anyways, if the woman in front of you kept going like this.
"I'm sorry ma'am, but our shops have individual prizes," The poor cashier tried to explain desperately, "If you're looking for a cheaper option you should go somewhere else."
"Are you telling me to leave?" The woman screeched like a fucking bird.
"N-No- I just wanted to help-" The man would probably quit his job after this. Definitely.
"Well, you aren't helping anywhere!" The lady straight out yelled and you huffed heavily, dropping the milk package you'd been holding.
This day started out shitty anyways
You turned around, pressing your way past the other customers in the queue, ignoring their complaints about how you should at least take your groceries back.
On any other day, you would've reacted exactly the same, probably, but today you were especially easy to tick off for some reason. Maybe you'd get your period early. Who knows.
It felt like the sun was mocking you, while you walked down the street, highly annoyed by the heat and the laughing children outside and, honestly, at this point you'd be annoyed by anything.
"Didn't you go for groceries?" Your boyfriend barely looked up from his laptop when you entered, kicking of your chucks aggressively.
"I did." You answered, "Didn't go that well."
You poured yourself some apple juice, before slumping down in the chair in front of Taemin's.
He looked up from whatever he was doing for a mili second, "You're so weird."
A quiet snort was your only answer, before you proceeded with drinking you apple juice.
It was quiet for some time, the only sounds being the tapping of Taemin's fingers over the keyboard. Your eyes fell onto your boyfriend, the man you'd fallen in love with back in high school, the man you imagined to spend the rest of your life with. Or at least that's what your high school-you had wished.
"Doesn't your shift start in, like, ten minutes?" His voice cut through the silence and you jumped up startled, eyes snapping up to the clock, that indeed showed 4:50.
Fuck all of this.
"If you take the bus you'll make it in time." Your boyfriend shouted after you, fully knowing that you'd long missed the bus, just wanting to lecture you about being more organized.
Quickly throwing on your jacket and shoes, you stumbled down the staircase, back into the blazing heat of the summer sun.
