While Jacob watched the cabin from a distance hidden, he saw the girl in green walk outside for the first time, rifle in her hand & going into the woods to hunt.

Angelicas POV

I needed food cause my supply was running short so I decided to take the risk & go deer hunting with my rifle. I put on my green cloak & went into the forest.
After about 10 minutes into my hunting trip, I heard someone grunt in anger "stupid rodent" as she heard a wolverine in the distance & then a gunshot. She looked around raising her rifle in case of an attacker or Cultist.
"Come out!" I ordered strongly before seeing Jacob step out from behind a tree.

Jacob: unless you plan on using that thing, put it down.

I lowered my rifle but kept my hood on & stared back at the ground.

Jacob: that's the first time I've heard you speak in a while. What's your name?

I thought twice about telling the soldier my name. I looked at his arm & saw a deep scratch from the wolverine he shot. So I thought about using a little kindness.

Me: what happened to your arm?

Jacob: nothing. Just a stupid wolverine.

Me: do you want me to...patch it up?

Jacob: I can take care of myself.

Me: I don't doubt that. But it's a return for you letting me go.

Jacob: fine. Only cause I don't have time for infections.

I led the man into my small cabin as he sat in the chair at the table. I grabbed a med kit from the cabinet & started stitching up the wound. The man didn't flinch once. I was still hiding my face but I began to feel slightly more comfortable with the man.

Me: it'll scar...

Jacob: I don't care. You never told me your name by the way.

Me: there all done.

I put the med kit back in the cabinet.

Me: do you want something to eat?

Jacob: sure.

I put some deer meat on the stove & after minutes of silence, it was done cooking. I served the man the food as we sat & ate in silence.
After we finished eating, we just sat there. As if we're waiting for something.

Jacob: why do you where the hood?

Me: I...I don't like showing myself.

Narrator

It wasn't just the fact that Angelica didn't like showing herself. What you didn't know was that Angelica had a scar on her right eye was a huge claw mark from a cougar that attacked her many years ago.

Angelicas POV

I was very nervous as Jacob would probably be disgusted by myself but I felt if I was building something even close to a friendship maybe it would be an ok idea. So I pulled down my hood as his eyes got a little wider.
Jacob took his hand & ran it over the scar with his cold & rough fingertips.

Jacob: what did that?

Me: a cougar. It happened years ago.

Jacob: that's why you're afraid to show yourself? You're insecure?

Me: that's one of the three reasons.

Jacob: what's the other two?

Me: well...the second is I try to blend in. The third is it keeps me hidden.

Jacob: hm.. Well I must get going. See ya around I guess.

Me: bye... My name is Angelica by the way...

Jacob smiled a tiny bit before walking out the cabin door.

Jacobs POV

The girl was alright. She had long gorgeous red hair, Ocean blue eyes, & the claw mark engraved on her skin from the cougar didn't make her look awful. It made her look stronger.

Narrator

Jacob didn't mind the girl having a scar on her face for he had plenty of scars & burns on his arms & face from war himself. Didn't bother him one bit.
