~Maximum Ride's P.O.V.~
"Alright," I said, standing in the middle of the living room. I clapped my hands loudly to get everyone's attention. "Flock meeting. Subject: Rose and Solar. They're like us, with wings and all. They can be a benefit to us, or they can be our down fall. So far, I haven't gotten any bad vibes frm them, but they still might try something bad."
"I think they should join us," Nudge said with an excited tone. "They're super nice, and Rose is so pretty, and I absolutely love playing with her hair. And Solar is so cute. But, you know, he seems a little protective over Rose."
What I wanted to say was, "Well, Jeb seemed nice! And look what happened!" But I didn't way to say such a thing, because I didn't want to hurt their feelings or anything.
"Angel, you read their minds, correct?" I put my attention on Angel, who was sitting on the couch next to Gazzy. "What were their thoughts like?"
"When I read Rose's mind, I didn't get anything bad," Angel told me. "She truly hates the School like us, and she's not doing anything for them. She really doesn't know who she is or how she got in the School."
"What about Solar?" Fang asked.
"I don't know," she responded with a shrug of her shoulders. "I can't get anything from like. It's like he's dead or something."
A frown appeared on my face. "Like Jeb?" I asked.
She nodded. "Yeah, like Jeb."
While sighing, I ran my fingers through my hair. "That could be bad for us. We'll keep him around, and I'll keep a hawk eye on him until I can determine whether he's good or bad. Rose, on the other hand, can most defiently be in the Flock."
Nudge whooped right when Gazzy's hand shot up into the air. "Why aren't my wings red and black?" he demanded.
I did a quick eye roll right when the sounds of car doors slaming was heard from outside. I looked out the window to see my mom, Solar, and Rose walking towards the front door. Before I could do anything else, Nudge jumped to her feet and rushed towards the door to open the door for the three.
With Nudge, my mom and the two newbies entered the living room. Solar stood right beside my mom while the top of Rose's head was seen over my mom's, and it looked like Rose was trying to hide from us.
Solar's silver hair was layered and cut to fall down to his shoulders. The tips of his hairs were dyed black, and he had brown contacts in his eyes. He wore a white tank top underneath an open black jacket, and he had black leather pants clinging to his legs. His knee-high black boots had white laces.
"Rose is a bit shy about the makeover, so be nice to her," my mom explained. "Here she is!" My mom stepped to the side to reveal Rose.
She had kept her hair length, and she had dyed it black with red streaks. Unlike Solar, she didn't put any contacts on. She wore a short-sleeved shirt with a pair of leadord print jeans and black converse boots with red laces. On her hands, she had fingerless black gloves that went up to her elbows.
She stepped forward while rubbing her arm nervously, and she shifted her weight to one leg with her eyes glued on the ground. "Uh, how do I look?"
I could hear Fang whispering into Iggy's ear, but I wasn't able to hear exactly what he was saying. From where I stood in the living room, I could practically hear the smirk on Iggy's face. He said, "By the description I got about you, Rose, you're hot!"
Almost immidietly, I marched over to Iggy and smacked him on the back of his head, earning a loud "Ow!" in response. I lookd over at Nudge, who rushed over tio Rose with a large smile on her face. "You look gorgeous!" she said happily. She walked around Rose, surveying every inch of the newbie. "The name Rose really suits you now! Love the streaks, by the way."
Rose blushed a deep shade of red. "Thanks," she mumbled. "You look really, too."
Nudge's smile grew, if that's even possible. She then put her attention on Solar, who was staring at her with a slight frown on his face. She opened her mouth to say something, but I rested my hands on her shoulders before she could and said, "Well, Rose, we've decided that we will adopt you into the Flock."
Rose blinked a couple times before smiling brightly. "Really?! Oh, thank you, Max!" Then her smile suddenly disappeared, and her eyes darted over to Solar. "What about...?"
"Angel's a mind reader," I explained. "She read your mind, Rose, and found nothing that will bring any harm from the Flock. Solar, on the other hand, Angel wasn't able to get anything from him. In her words, it was like he was dead."
"Dead?" She frowned while staring at Angel.
Solar's frown deepened. "So, because the child didn't get anything from my head, you think I'm on the bad side?"
"We don't know that for sure yet," I told him. "We just need to watch you for a while to determine wether you're good or bad."
He didn't respond. He simply tore his eyes off me to look down on the ground with an expression on his face that told me that he was deep in thought. He played with the end of his shirt while biting down on his bottom lip.
"First." I held up one finger. "The Flock and I need to see how well the two of you can fly, fight, and all that good stuff. Think the two of you can handle it?"
Solar's attention turned to me again for a second, then he looked over at Rose, the same time she looked at him. At the same moment, they looked over at me with looks of determination on their faces. "We can handle it," Rose said while Solar nodded his head in agreement.

Story made by TianaTwitch, duh, and rewritten by me, duh again.
The song choice is Fucking Perfect by P!nk, and my younger sister, ZombieSloth, helped me choose the song for the chapter. I may or may not change the song later on in life.
