"HOLY-" Lucas stared at the girl in the middle of the mess. Mess, meaning the woods in the back of the little house completely destroyed and in flames.
" Don't say anything! I know what I did! Just let me fix this." Mira closed her eyes and lifted her hands.
Concentrating, Mira moved every broken tree back into place, every leaf un-burnt and perfectly on each branch, every detail perfect as if it hasn't been touched.
Before Lucas's eyes, time has basically backtracked to before Mira blew it to pieces.
The scene in front of him looked as if it was painted onto a canvas, and hung on a wall of a museum. Every tree glistened in the afternoon light, every leaf gently swayed to the music of the autumn breeze.
And the girl in the middle made the picture even more beautiful.
Wait, no way he thought that!
He can never fall in love with her, she is crazy! So, why does he feel butterflies?
" S-so um," Lucas started, "w-we need to figure out how to control your pyrokinesis first before you burn down anything else."
Mira laughed, "You should've told me that 10 years ago."
Lucas stepped forward to close the huge gap between the two, "Well, I'm here, now."
Mira gulped as Lucas inched ever so closely to her.
He then leaned in and took her hand in his, and looked into her eyes.
As Lucas's face slowly closed the proximity between the two, Mira let out a small shriek and a small burst of flames combusted from her hands, which were in Lucas's grasp.
The small flame wasn't enough to burn the boy, but it was enough for him to let go of Mira and contemplate on WHAT THE HECK he just did!
"Oh! Shi-"
"Why did you do that!" Mira exclaimed a bit horrified by the boy who just tried to kiss her.
Lucas flinched at the sound of her voice, did she use her magic to make it sound so overpowering or was that just him?
"I-I don't know, I j-just thought that maybe that could help control your powers." Lucas stuttered.
Mira was now filled with rage and confusion, "Well, I know how to use and control my powers, I think it's something else."
"What do you mean by that."
"I mean I get this burst of energy that I just need to let out sometimes you know."
Lucas did know and he knew exactly what was causing her bursts of - well- explosions.
"I know what it is." Lucas said with a smirk.
Mira's eyes widened, "You do?"
"Yup." Lucas stared at Mira and smiled for who knows how long.
*cue in the awkward silence*
This continued until it made Mira so uncomfortable that she wanted to crawl into a corner and hide. "Well," Mira started, "Can you tell me what it is?"
Lucas snapped back into reality, "Oh, yea!" He looked at Mira with a semi-serious stare, "It's your temper."
Mira laughed, "What are you talking about?"
Lucas gave her a 'really' look, "You have a short temper."
Mira snorted, "I do not."
"Yes, yes you do."
"Do not!"
"Do to."
"I SAID I DIDN'T" Mira yells as she pushed her hand outward toward the area where Lucas was standing.
Lucas ducked and looked behind him to see a tree bursting into flames in a matter of seconds, right before his eyes.
Lucas then whipped his head back to the girl, "SEE!"
Mira's eyes widened and her mouth created an 'o' shape, "Oh, God! I do!" she mumbled.
"Yes you do," Lucas said matter-of-factly, "and we can lose that temper of yours starting tomorrow."
As he finished his last words, he spinned on his heels and walked his way to the front of the house.
Mira was dumbfounded, "Wait! Where are you going!"
"Home!" he replied, "It's getting dark! Bye!"
He then raised and flicked his hand in a slightly signalling that that was his wave "goodbye."
Mira huffed a goodbye back and turned back to the flaming tree and concentrated on bringing this tree back to its normal state.
She then looked to the sky and could see the night sky above blanketing the earth as if it was a small child.
How long was Lucas staring at her with a freaky smile of his?
