Chapter 7: The Shack and The Secrets

 Lucas and Mira ran inside the shack for shelter. They believed that it would be empty, but they were sadly mistaken.

Almost every noon and cranny of this room was filled with items, old and rusted, dusty from never being used, hidden away from the outside world.

The two split up and searched the area, looking at different items like small clocks, figurines, small packets of herbal tea, and bottles of ...alcohol?

Lucas found a picture of a young couple. He squinted his eyes and he could recognize the man in the photo, but not the woman, though she seemed quite familiar.

It's the old headmaster Kim, Lucas thought, and the girl looks like. 

He gasped and turned to find Mira who was sitting at a corner, back facing him.

He ran hurried over to where she was to tell her, but he found her reading a book and crying.

"Mira..." He tried to comfort her, but the girl flinched and hid herself in a corner.

"G-get away-y f-from m-me." She said between sobs.

Lucas crouched down getting closer to her, but the girl tried to make herself smaller, she threw the book she was reading and curled herself into a ball, "I-I'll only hurt you."

"What do you mean?" Lucas asked, but he didn't get an answer. He sighed and skimmed through the book that was thrown at him.

He found out that it was a diary.

He read through a couple of entries talking about meeting the person's love in secret, because of breaking the rule. This is their hiding place. Lucas thought.

He read more until he found the last entry.

It said that they had a child before the hunters could find them.

Lucas's eyes widened , "So the child of chaos is upon us." He mumbled. 

He then read the last line, but as soon as he did, he dropped the book and covered his mouth in shock.

The book was left open with the last line clear as day:

Be safe Mira, my beautiful daughter.

Lucas kneeled down beside Mira and took her into his arms.

He comforted her, telling her it's alright.

She, soon, calmed down, but was still sobbing, and rested her head by Lucas's chest.

"L-Lucas..." she started.

Lucas hummed in response.

"I'm the chaos child... but, am I evil?" She asked as she looked at him with a tear stained face.

Lucas wiped them away, "No, you're not evil, Mira."

He softly chuckled at his next words, "Just really short tempered."

Mira gave a soft laugh and looked at Lucas straight in the eyes, "Then, who am I."

Lucas smiled and kissed her forehead.

"You are my lady."

Mira was frozen in shock, she could feel the heat rising to her face, but she hid it as she hid her face in Lucas's chest and fell asleep, replaying his words in her mind.

You are my lady.
