"I'm back~" Lucas yelled in a sing-song voice, "missed me! ... What the he-"

"Hey, hey! Idiot!" Mira smiled as Lucas walked in the room where her feet were frozen in place along with everything else in the room, in which she was trying to thaw, "what took you so long!"

"What did you do this time?" Lucas ran over to Mira and helped thaw her feet.

Mira chuckled, "Well, you see..."

She tried to avoid the question, but Lucas pushed on.

"What. Did. You. Do."

Mira let out a nervous laugh, "Um... so... there was this fly..."

"A fly?"

"Yes! A freaking annoying fly tha-"

"A fly?"

"Yes! It was flying right in front of my face and buzzing so-"

"Let me get this straight, a fly?"

"GOD, LUCAS, YES! It was annoying so I tried to freeze it, but each time I tried, it would avoid it and fly towards me and do this buzzing thing as if it was mocking me! I was so annoyed that..."

Lucas stared at Mira as if she was the fated child of chaos herself.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" She queried.

Lucas began speaking, "You did all this because of a STUPID FLY?"

Mira flinched, "Well, when you put it like that, it sounds like I have issues..."

Lucas snorted, "You kinda do, honey. But, I'm here to help."

He then walked past her to the forest behind the house, "come on." He urged.

Mira followed closely behind. "Where are we going?"

"Anywhere."

"Huh?"

Lucas stopped walking and turned to face her.

"I'm trying to help you calm down, so I thought the best thing we could do is walk aimlessly and talk about random shit."

Mira raised her head and her mouth gave an 'o' shape. After her realization of him basically saying to waste her energy, she then took the lead and walked deeper into the forest.

"So, what do you want to talk about." She started.

Lucas shrugged, "Anything is fine."

"If you say anything, I'll start talking about a possible future where no one believes in Magic, but fakes it with some crazy ass technology."

Lucas laughed, " There is no way that could happen."

"It could! And there would be a bunch of people just watching others sing, dance, you name it on a small screen!"

"Yea, I'm not believing it. How about we talk about something else."

"Like what?"

"Like your past, why you don't go to school, what your parents are like at home, because I always wanted to know what Professor Davi- did I say something wrong?"

Lucas found himself at the door of an old shack and saw Mira hanging her head low, staring at the ground.

He moved closer to comfort her, but she popped her head up.

"Why did you stop talking?" She asked confused.

"I thought you were crying so I-"

"I'm fine, I was just wondering how I could answer your questions."

"Just start from the beginning."

"Okay." She started as she took a seat at the doorstep of the old shack, she patted the spot beside her for Lucas to sit.

He obliged.

Mira then looked to the sky, "My parents died when I was a baby, apparently they died in a forest fire after a storm, that's what Uncle David told me."

Lucas lowered his head, "oh" he muttered.

Mira shrugged, "Yeah, but I was still a baby. I didn't really know them yet. Anyways, I was taken in by Uncle David. He is super sweet and overprotective when it comes to me using magic. He would always tell me that my powers were too much for him to handle and just disappear into thin air..."

Mira kept talking and Lucas listened.

They talked for hours until thunder crashed and the rain started to pour.
